At the time when all seem to be falling apart for the opposition NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, especially with their infamous description of the Asantehene as a lair, it is becoming increasingly evident that the umbrella family is fast crumbling and finding it difficult to safe its face and that of their torchbearer.
The people of the Asante Kingdom are fuming with rage over the NDC’s attack on the Asantehene, with most expressing anger and spiting fire on Mr. Mahama and his opposition party, while others are recommending a ban on the former President and his Chief of Staff, from the Kingdom.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II while speaking at the United Nations General Assembly remarked that it was through his effort that the former President who was unwilling to accept defeat, conceded.
Otumfou explained: "at the conclusion of the last presidential and parliamentary elections, the country stood on the edge of disaster. The United Nations representative and the diplomatic community were aghast and alarmed that Ghana was about to slip down the slope of the electoral violence...Fortunately, the moral authority of the palace was at hand. We were able to intervene to persuade the losing candidate to accept his fate and to fly both candidates for a quiet encounter to pave way for a smooth handover."
However, a former Chief of Staff under the John Mahama reign issued a statement and refuted the Otumfou’s earlier assertion, claiming that the former President was never persuaded to concede defeat as was claimed by the Asantehene.
According to most people in the region, the statement from the former Chief of Staff is an insult to the reputation and authority of the Asantehene, as to them, it was a subtle way to describe the King as a lair.
And for one Chief who could stand and watch the Asante King be called a lair, Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Chief of Agric-Nsima, a suburb of the Kingdom, has sent a strong warning to Mr. Mahama and his NDC should never dare to rope the Asantehene into their ‘dirty’ and ‘uncensored’ tribal politicking.
He has personally taken a serious swipe at Mr. Mahama and Julius Debrah, warning them and their party to stay away from issues about Asanteman and Manhyiah.
Nana Boadu Ayeboafo was livid to the extent that he was ready to ensure both the former president and his Chief of Staff are barred from Manhyia palace, as was done to former KMA boss, Kojo Bonsu.
He said, the statement from the NDC leader was a clear insult and as such, they must be dealt with accordingly.
To him, if they NDC does not respect the dignity of Asanteman and its King, they should be bold and say it rather than hiding behind such trivialities, adding that ‘no power can bring Asanteman down’, and urged all in the kingdom to reject any move to bring disgrace to the golden stool.

We are free to spell as we Please. Frank! You're too indoctrinated, how well do you spell your own language? This whole issue and all you're worried about is how well we spell the forking English language? Go check your head.
I plea that the writers check their spellings well when writing.
No one needs to bring the Asanteman down because it is down already. Second hand clothing, used clothing, or foss is the biggest business in Kumasi even though Asanteman has one of the richest gold deposit in the world and at the same time they're ranked as one of the poorest people in the world, Go and read UN report on Asante kingdom.
Massa! There's nothing like Asante kingdom. Asantehene goes all the way to UN and speakes English that alone shows that the Asantehen is not even comfortable with his own language! What happened to the richest African culture? We could've displayed it at the UN with the linguistic interpretation and the rich Kente. He's ashamed of his own kingdom and you're here making noise. The Asanteman has been indoctrinated

Mahama was queitly advised to concede defeat. that was rather shameful. why are we attacking the king? you do not need to be compelled to concede defeat. it is a NO. i am sure you would not concede defeat at all this time. please spare us any violence but i believe the Great Asante king would come to our aid again. many thanks to Asantehene
When they talk ill about other kingdoms and rulers it is discrimination and tribalism but when it is about Ashantes and our King we are rubbish and think we owe the world and should give a break. We are also humans like others and it is not our fault to be born Ashantes .People should remember we all need one another in one way or the other.
If not true why was election results delayed for over three days. Instead of conceding Mr. Mahama and his people were dressed in white cloths claiming that they were in a comfortable lead. This made both Ghanaians and foreign observers confused because they knew how the results were going per their data from the constituencies results which can simply be put together to have a fair view of the results even before final declaration by the EC. In fact 2016 elections saw the most delayed elections results since 1992 and the EC was also comfortably waiting for Mr. Mahama to accept before going ahead to declare the election results.
