The Resident Pastor of Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC)- Koforidua, Pastor Musah Yahaya has said, Ghana would have been in complete doom and gloom had it not been the crucial role the Church continues to play in imbibing moral values in the citizenry.
He has, therefore, cautioned strongly against what he says is a seeming agenda to attack the entire Church.
He rebuked Politicians flooding Churches to seek the favour of God during electioneering but turn round to cast aspersions on the same Church at the least opportunity.
“Very soon we will be entering into the political season, you will meet politicians coming to church to seek for our votes but shortly after the election, they turn round to condemn the same church. Without the church, the nation will be in a complete doom. The church is the light of God. Anybody who downplays the role of the church in any nation is ignorant”.
Pastor Musah Yahaya said upsurge in corruption and Crime in the Country is not enough justification to blame the Church of failure adding, the menace would have been disastrous if the Church did not exit especially at a time human rights issues are being enforced against the scriptures to a point that, corporal punishment has been outlawed in Schools.
“….that even though Christianity is expanding in the nation yet there is corruption all over. It is true. They say churches are increasing yet crimes are increasing. It is true. But the question I want to ask is that, the church is the source of light for all the nations, then by now if the Church is not there the nation would have been in complete darkness”
Christianity has come under intense criticism in recent times following increasing misconduct some individuals claiming to be pastors.
But According to Pastor Musah Yahaya, the entire body of Christ must not be lumped together to attack its relevance.
Preaching Sunday December 29, 2019 at the Climax of the Christmas Convention on the theme “We have seen His Star” (Matthew 2:2), Pastor Musah Yahaya charged Christians not to be discouraged by the rising criticisms and attacks on the Church, but rather manifest the “light of Jesus Christ “which is stronger enough to overcome the darkness of the World.
He urged members of the Church of Pentecost to distinguish themselves at their workplaces and wherever they find themselves by holding on to high level of discipline in line with the Church’s agenda of “possessing the nations”.
“We have a responsibility as light”.
"Don’t let anybody downplays the church. You have to shine as individuals and I need to also shine and since we are in the church, our light will be soo much all over that, darkness will be faded away. If we don’t shine we will become like them, speak like the way they speak but because we are the light if we shine our light will be brighter. Don’t allow anybody to convince you ”
Pastor Musah Yahaya reminded politicians to note that, positive economic indicators alone do not bring prosperity to the people but their spiritual wellness as well.
He called on Christians to rise up to fight against subtle attempts to embrace immorality for economic gains ” our nation is becoming too porous where people want to embrace immorality do the Nation get money. As a church, we must arise because we are the embodiment of the Glory of God”.

I pray that Christians in this nation will be doer of the word and also with the little faith we have. we will put it into action so that it will affect the productivity of our nation.
Do not be deceived. You cant imagine how many homes will be broken, how many people will be taken advantage off, how many communities would have been set on fire, how much more money would have been stolen from state coffers is someone had not believed in God as a result of the work of the Church. How will they hear the gospel if no one preached to them, and how will they be saved if they did not hear the gospel. Once upon a time, was going for a second wife, my marriage was on the verge of collapse and my home was on the verge of becoming broken, my belief in God, my role in the Church, and the role of the church saved me. Today my family and I are back on track. I always say Christianity is a life and not an event. If you treat Christianity as an event, you can easily be deceived by miracles, but if you treat Christianity as a life you will learn by the help of the Church to walk with Jesus, one day at a time and no prophet can deceive you. Note that prophecies, miracles and tongues will pass away but the word of God will remain. Go to Church and if you do not pretend, you will be a better person.
Churches in Ghana are doing more evil to the public than good! Ghana will be better without church. There are many studies that shows secular nations doing better than religious nations. Religion impedes development. Education, laws and regulations is what Ghana needs to thrive in the long run
ACCEPTED, THAT THE CHURCH PLAYS VERY CRUCIAL ROLES IN EVERY NATIONS LIFE. BUT IT IS ALSO TRUE THAT THE WORSE CRIMES ON EARTH ARE CREATED / COURSED BY CHRISTIANS. FOR EXAMPLE AMERICA LEADFING 2019 AS THE THAT HAS KILLED MORE CIVILIANS THAN ANY NATION AND YET THEY SAY THEY ARE A CHRITIAN NATION. GHANA HAS THE HIGEST NUMBER OF RELIGOUS PEOPLE (71.2% AS OF 2010) BEING CHRISTIANS, YET THE LEVEL OF STEALING (CORRUPTION) FROM STATE COFFERS IS WORSE THAN ONE CAN IMAGINE. EVERY CHURCH IS PREACHING PROSPERITY IN WEALTH (BUSINESS) AND VERY FEW ARE PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF FAITH IN CHRIST. BEFORE A CHURCH WAS PLANTED IN MY VILLAGE A FEW YEARS BACK THE PEOPLE WERE ALL TRADITIONAL WORSHIPPERS AND HADLY WILL YOU HEAR THAT MY CHICKEN IS MISSING. TODAY AS I SPEAK, WITH THE COMING IN OF THE CHURCH, GOAT OR SHEEP STEALING HAS BECOME THE ORDER OF THE DAY. ALL THE FOREST HAS BEEN DEPLETED AND SOLD OUT AS LUMBER WHICH USED NOT TO BE SO. IS CHRISTIANITY PREACHING VICES TO ITS INHERENTS? WITH THE LEVEL OF CHRISTIANITY IN GHANA OUR COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE MOVED "FURTHER FAR" THAN WHERE WE ARE TODAY. CHRISTIANS CAN NOT ESCAPE BLAME. MATERIALISM IN CHRITIANS HAS TAKEN OVER FAITH IN CHRIST
Great message . I must add that the church needs to do more. There is so much preaching about materialism these days. People steal from government coffers or their employers and put it out there as "blessings of God". Leadership across all Christianity need to preach love, honesty, justice, peace and integrity as foundational to building morally sound Christian life. Churches accept donation from people without questioning the source of those donations and such "generous" donors tend to receive praise from church leaders. Some are even rewarded with positions of influence and recognition within the church's board of governance without regard to personal integrity. This can only serve as fuel for corruption. And it is about time the church consciously thought about self-regulation to deal with errant behavior of some leaders of some churches. The levels of corruption currently in this country cannot be acceptable and it does make sense to talk of some failure on the part of the church given that 70% of the population are Christians. Perhaps there is not a clear enough message by the church to address such a serious canker that deprives the poorest of the poor of basic human needs! The church together with the media wield more power than politicians and their cronies in business who perpetrate some of the most gross acts of corruption.
