Ghana’s active cases have shot up again after 777 new Covid-19 cases according to updates by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
According to the GHS, the country as of 31st January 2021, has 5,786 active cases and 62,340 recoveries/discharge.
The cumulative figure now stands at 68,559.
Meanwhile, 9 more deaths have been recorded taking the tally to 433.
The Director-General of the GHS, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye at a press briefing said the new COVID-19 variants from the United Kingdom (UK) are spreading faster and widely among the Ghanaian population and that the number of people falling sick from COVID-19 infections stood at 32 per cent.
