Many Ghanaians have been complaining about mobile data charges by network operators in the country.
Mobile data in Ghana, to many people, is very expensive making it difficult for them to enjoy their internet connectivity.
When it comes to data charges in the country, one of the network providers known to be running expensive data bundles or packages is MTN.
With Ghanaians raising lots of concerns over the data charges, the Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful appeared on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show today and host of the programme, Kwami Sefa Kayi, asked what the network providers are doing about the charges.
But according to the Minister, data in Ghana is far better as compared to other countries in Africa.
She argued that "we have one of the lowest data charges on the continent. So, it is not that bad at all".

Have you compared cost of living in Africa with Ghana Data is expensive Telcos are cheating the people you won’t keep quiet you make your face like cargo car
Hmmmmm, the minister should have also gone ahead to do a comparative analysis of income levels among African countries with regards to data charges. These communication companies will tell you the data you have purchased is for one month only for it to get exhausted in a week. When they tell you through a message that the data purchased is for a week they mean 2 days. Some will even tell you their data doesn't expire. This amounts to pure ***barred word***. The communication operators don't practice what they preach.
Minister we understand but we can do better. Data is too expensive in Ghana. Spending 1500GH on data every month is too much and poor connection when you are out of the major cities. Thanks
