The Founder of Alliance for Christian Advocacy Africa, Rev. Opuni Frimpong, has said that the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, owes Ghanaians the stance of the government regarding the pending anti-gay bill awaiting approval into law by the President.
During an interview with Nana Yaa Konadu on Peace FM News midday news bulletin, Rev. Opuni Frimpong expressed his disappointment, emphasizing that the Vice President's current stance serves no purpose for the country unless he actively advocates for the bill's passage.
Adding that, it would have been more appropriate if the Vice President had been transparent about his stance on Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) issues earlier, but now that it’s of public interest, the public expects more than his opinion.
Rev. Opuni Frimpong went further to highlight that if there are differing opinions between him and the President on this matter, it is imperative for the Vice President to publicly address it or consider resignation, particularly as he is vying for the presidency in December.
Stating that this lack of transparency not only raises questions about the Vice President's commitment to upholding the rights of all Ghanaians but also undermines public trust in his leadership.

the president's stand is not different from Dr. Bawumia. the president was unequivocal when he said LGBTQ+ will never happen under his watch. he has on countless occasions expounded he stand on that and it has never been different from what Dr. Bawumia said so how can anybody say that he should resign because his stand contradicts that of the president?
NO SENSE HERE. IF YOU DIFFER IN OPINION WITH SOMEONE, IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO BOYCOTT THE OTHER. OSOFO IS NEVER EXPECTED TO PREACH ENMITY. A BIG SHAME HERE. HATRED IS NEVER A SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM.
An ardent opposition to NPP. I am not surprised
REV OPUNI FRIMPONG, YOUR HATRED TOWARDS NANA ADDO IS SO OBIVIOUS YOU CAN NOT HIDE IT. IAM SURE YOU HAVE PASTORED A LOT OF PRESBY CONGREGATIONS. CAN YOU BOLDLY TELL US WHICH OF THE SEXUAL SINS IS DESTROYING FAMILIES? IF YOU ARE NOT AN ADULTRER THEN USE THE ENERGY TO SPEAK AGAINST ADULTERY AS YOU ARE SPEAKING AGAINST LGBQTI+. BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ENGAGED IN LGBQIT+ ACTIVITIES YOU ARE LOUD ON THEIR CASE BUT BECAUSE YOU ARE NECK DEEP IN ADULTERY YOUR MOUTH CAN NOT OPEN TO TALK WHEN IT COMES ADULTERY.
He, Bawuliar doesn't have the balls. A weak pathetic, boot licking yes man. ARISE 3RD FORCE, ARISE GHANA YOUTH!!!!!!!!
NPP fooI soldiers, listen you don't have to lick the boots of Akufo Addo and Bawumia every time. The issue of LGBTQ is a very fundamental consideration of our nation. If you don't know, our economic independence and buoyancy partly depends on our stance on this matter. Nobody cares about the opinion of Bawumia on this matter as he has sought to provide, which is inconsequential. If he wants us to entrust our power to him, he must tell us what he will use the power for. Akufo Addo has already disappointed us, he's misusing the power that we have given him by refusing to sign the bill. If Bawumia strongly disagrees with him, he must let us know that he has advised him to sign it but to no avail. If I were Bawumia, as a person of substance, I will go a step further to resign to show Akufo Addo that I can't be part of his closet to go the abominable direction that he's going.
So did this reverend minister think through what he suggested Dr Bawumia must do by resigning? Is he suggesting that Bawumia cannot have his own mind and opinion over issues that is different from the president? Is Bawumia and Nana Addo the same people? Even twins don't think alike, if this reverend minister doesn't know. In any case, can Bawumia force the president to do anything he the president doesn't like? And was the bill sent to Bawumia to sign? I thought this rev minister was knowledgeable, but it seems it is all fluke.
OSOFO WILL U BREAK UP WITH YOUR WIFE OR DISOWN YOUR CHILDREN IF YOU HAVE DIFFERING OPINION OVER A FAMILY ISSUE? IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY KEEP QUIET, U DONT ALWAYS HAVE TO LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD AT ALL COST
Bawumia can only deceive small minds. How can you leave the main issues untouched and be playing around the fringes.
Bawumia is only playing games, he should tell Nana to sign the bill into law
