@Peters, he did make history but a history that we are not proud of. Never have we seen in the history of this country, a president who openly defends corrupt officials and who has flagrantly violated the constitutions which he swore to defend! But those of us who know him and warned Ghanaians against making an error by "trying him" as he requested are not really surprised by this disastrous presidency! He purposely came to destroy Ghana; somehow he feels Ghana owes him a Presidency which was repeatedly denied him and it is his to exact his pound of flesh. He is a very vindictive and arrogant person ,remember.
Hmmmmm , if there is/was any one politician Ghanaians believed could take Ghana to the next level in our quest to develop, instill discipline, curb corruption, show leadership by example, decorum in our political discourse, being strict, feared by his appointees etc, that politician is/ was no other person than Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo. Unfortunately he has missed a golden opportunity to have made history for himself and family at large. As to how come he suddenly became a direct opposite of what we heard about him is mind boggling. Despite the Covid 19 pandemic and the Russia/Ukraine war, he could still have made a good name. The people of Ghana are not that ***barred word*** not to appreciate happenings around the globe. His public utterances sometimes makes one to believe that all he wanted was to be president and he is, that's all. Any other thing is secondary matter to him. The errors of the NPP government under Akuffo Addo are just too much, too many. I keep saying John Mahama had no intention of coming back to the political scene after that embarrassing defeat in 2016. However sitting at home and watching happenings in government from behind the scenes, he said, ummmm, if this is what is happening now, then i was a saint. John Mahama is definitely not the alternative but it's like he has been given a field day. How will it look like if Akuffo Addo were to hand over power to the "incompetent" Mahama on January 7, 2025. Won't Ghanaians be saying that John Mahama with all his "incompetence" is still far better? I wish Akuffo Addo ponders over this and use the remaining 1 year, 3 months to redeem his sunken imagine. I used to be one of his admirers, but truth be told, he has become a pale shadow of himself. He campaigned on President kufour's records that's how come he (Akuffo Addo) led with 49% in the first round of the 2008 elections meaning the NPP was still the popular choice of the people after 8 years in power thanks to President kufour's pro poor policies and his ability to move government and party along. Anyone who wins the NPP presidential primaries have a double tasks at hand, first, how to bring the disappointed, neglected, low morale, apathy party supporters together with the party supporters willing to make sacrifices again like they did in 2016, ( Owusu Afriyie Akoto , former Min of agriculture sector ) when he was on his campaign tours round the country said this was the information he was getting from NPP supporters, and secondly, carrying the fight to the main opponent, the (NDC) who looks armed to the teeth in readiness for "battle " 2024 . If he (Akuffo Addo) is going to be yardstick with which the 2024 elections will be measured, to borrow from the Nigerians 'then trouble don come' . We live to see.
