A 22-year-old driver, Isaac Koomson, has been sentenced to 21 days imprisonment in hard labour by a Tarkwa circuit court for driving without license
Yaw Manu, who was on board the vehicle driven by the convict, was fined 180 Ghana cedis for tempering with the vehicle while it was in motion.
They pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Edward Paddy told the court that the convict drove a taxi from Bogoso junction towards Nsuta in which Manu was as a passenger.
He said Manu struggled with Koomson and removed the ignition key, forcing the taxi to run into another vehicle. Inspector Paddy said a passenger at the front seat of the taxi cab together with those in other vehicle got injured.
