There were multiple car crashes in Ho when a driver of a Volvo-cargo truck with registration number GR3351X ran into seven other vehicles.
An eyewitness told the Times that about eight persons were severely injured in the accident.
The cargo truck which was carrying crates of soft drinks and other assorted goods was said to be heading from the direction of OLA Senior High School to Ho town when its brakes failed.
It took the Ghana Fire Service some hours to clear the road for free flow of vehicular traffic.
Two driver mates of the trucks were rescued while three others were removed from one of the affected taxi cabs.
Some of the affected vehicles included a pick-up belonging to Nkwanta District Mutual Health Scheme.
