The Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) has denied media reports that the authority has imposed a ban on the export of non-traditional crops.
Television station TV3 on Friday reported that the Narcotic Control Board had placed a temporary ban on the export of non-traditional crops without giving any reasons for the action.
But in a swift response, the Executive secretary of the Narcotic Control Board, Yaw Akrasi Saropng said at a press conference he is surprised by the reports and can confirm that his outfit has not taken any such action.
It is completely false and the person who gave that information must have done that for a reason which is very strange, we dont know why he/she will say that; we have neither on the spot by word or by letter banned any non-traditional export because that is not our mandate.
Mr. Akrasi also added that NACOB did not lock the gate into the cargo village, as the report also reported. We have no keys to any gate, we have not done anything like; that is not our mandate, he added.
