A powerful storm that swept through the Atwima-Nwabiagya District has left hundreds of people in two communities, Mfensi and Amadum-Adankwame, displaced.
The strong winds, which came with a heavy rainfall, destroyed the roofing and caused a number of buildings including school structures to collapse. Nobody, however, got hurt.
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) had already visited the communities to assess the extent of the destruction and determine what emergency assistance the victims might need.
Mr Joseph Osei-Kwabena, the District NADMO Coordinator, assured the displaced, who were now living with friends and relatives, that the assembly would rush in some relief items to give them a bit of comfort.
Meanwhile, school children and their teachers had been forced to hold classes under trees due to the storm.
