Some changes have been made at the top hierarchy of the Ghana Police Service.
The changes are at two main units CID, Special Duties
Director General Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID) COP Prosper Agblor is now Director General Special Duties.
Director General Welfare DCOP Bright Oduro takes over from COP Prosper Agblor as Director General Criminal Investigative Department.
ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah Deputy Director General, Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS) is now Deputy Director General Criminal Investigative Department (she takes over from Deputy Director CID, ACP Deniss Abade who is now deputy Special Duties)
It is unclear for now who takes over as Deputy Director General of the PIPS.
DCOP - Nana Osabarima Pinkro held that position as Director General, Special Duties. For now it’s unclear where he’s headed.
The person filling the Special Duties position is determined by assignments from the Inspector General himself.

Per your logic those who ve been changed, hold allegiance to the NDC, is that what you mean . Are we not reading unnecessary meanings into every change that comes,
Why don't we decentralise this institution like what pertains in other countries like U.K.We have brilliant DCOPs like Kofi Boakye who can manage his region much better when he has more powers as an independent police authority in Kumasi.
@obrefo you are right but they themselves know that an officer becomes corrupt if he/she holds the same position for too long a time. So this is like reshuffle...
Same in every democracy, even the United States does same. It is called house cleaning and it is very very important. This is not church, it is democracy.
The ritual has began; as usual, the politicization of the police has began as usual with the purging of the known old guards who favoured the previous regime. Too bad, Ghana can go on like this. There ought to be a break somewhere to foster the independence of the police to encourage them to carry their work professionally and allegiance to the state and the constitution instead of a president or a ruling party. We have long way to go as a nation.
