Vivian Opoku, wife of the late Christopher Opoku, has penned a painful but memorable message to her husband on the day he would have celebrated his birthday if he was still alive.
The famed sports broadcaster died earlier this year from cancer.
Today, December 5th would have marked the 43rd birthday of Opoku if he was alive and his wife has marked it by cherishing his memory.
Message below…
“CHRISTOPHER NANA OPOKU ..
I’ve your homemade cake ready… I have your favourite wine and the table set … sitting here waiting..
it feels like Chris have gone outside Accra/Ghana to do commentary… and he ‘ll be coming back ….. am waiting Chris.. Will you be coming back…My love?
Can you hear me on your cloud, Chris?
I miss the strength you brought me. And the comfort it gave.
And on your birthday, my love, it’s so hard, pretending to be brave.
But I have found hidden courage. And it helps to see me through.
It quietens me and protects me. And I know it comes from you.
Here on earth we shared a life.
And as happy as it could be, I never took for granted, all you meant to me.
So I shall spend your birthday dreaming that you were here,
Helping me to wipe every silent tear.
As I shed some birthday tears typing, just remember I love you and forever will
You, Chris, are IRREPLACEABLE
GOD HAS YOU IN HIS KEEPING. I HAVE YOU IN MY HEART.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN CHRISTOPHER NANA OPOKU.
PLEASE COME BACK … PLEASE”
