The entire Chiraa community, particularly teachers of Chiraa Methodist ‘A’ Basic School in the Brong Ahafo Region, was thrown into a state of ecstasy when news of Mercy Aboagyewaa Yeboah gaining admission to Achimota Senior High School greeted them.
Her admission to Achimota School makes her the first female from Chiraa to gain admission to the school.
Mercy Aboagyewaa Yeboah, who scored aggregate 14 in the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), got admission to study General Arts.
The Headmaster of the Chiraa Methodist ‘A’ Basic School, Stephen Owusu Asamoah, who spoke to Onua FM, said the people of Chiraa are excited and proud of Mercy Aboagyewaa Yeboah.
He indicated that he encouraged Mercy to select Achimota School because he was aware she could make the grades to gain admission.

Be Serious! She has really done well. Do you know where Chiraa Methodist A JHS is. Be serious! She reminds me of my past years, when I gain admission to PRESEC - LEGON to read Science in 2000. I was from Pokuase D/A JSS.Between 1997 to 2000 Pokuase and Amasaman were all village. My late Agric Teacher was awarded best teacher for Greater Accra Region that year. It was this admission that pave the way for me to become the Engineer I had always wish to be.
I was really shock when I heard the news circulating on social media. because she is not the first to get admission at Achimota or not the first to get grade 14. I think this is not a news to be posted... All this types of issues makes people look down on Brong Ahafo
Congratulations to the young lady. I know that on an equal level field, you'll excel. Credit to the NPP government for introducing free secondary education. Without that, your parents may not have afforded to send you to achimota school. Those whose rxn suggest they are against the worthy effort of government, relax. You can't change the truth and what the people like.
I'm proud of the girl but this is not a news to be published widely...... Now the headmaster is throwing challenge for the girl. One guy who is also in Chiraa got admission to Adisadel college so we have to hype him too.
What is happening in Ghana? Must this be news? So aggregate 14 was the best in Chiraa? Or her gaining admission to Achimota? I am really sad as Ghanaian right now.
Akuffo Addo gets praise for doing his job? He was employed by Ghanaians to work for Ghana. No wonder Ghana is behind as compared to other developing Countries. The young lady deserves credit for making great use of the resources the state offered her. Grown matured thinkers do not sing hymns to NPP or NDC elected officials for doing their jobs.
Thanks to the President's double track system
Aggregate 14 Wow u did ur best learn hard n make mummy and Daddy pr
Wow,aggregate 14fantasy or what?I could have seen real Chiraa in her mothers pictured attention. So far her grade might have been the best in the whole school.Or is it ACHIMOTA mentioned Thanks
Do we have to politicise everything? Did free shs write the exams for her? Let's be real and devoid of politicizing everything. Just as I highly recommend Nana for introducing the free shs, its equally important we appreciate the efforts our young ones make.
