In the Ghanaian village of Mamfe Dove, pregnant women are not allowed to deliver in the village because it’s believed that it will offend the gods.
Some expectant mothers end up making last-minute journeys in excruciating pain to avoid breaking the tradition.
But some women are starting to challenge the practice and demand they be allowed to stay to have their babies.

ASHBELL you blast waa...hahahahah
This is not peculiar to the Ayigbe's only. Consider other traditional areas where funeral and other social activities are banned for a period of time for the sake of a "glorified" personality. It is high time the old order is changed!
I worked there myself, and it's very difficult for mothers of Mafi Dove. Please using foul language in your comment it's not the best, critise positively. To promote safe delivery GHS has provided a nearby clinic for delivery services and we hope sooner or later that tradition will be abolished same as others. 745332
