A 36-year-old unemployed man who got frustrated over washing the panties of his wife was arrested Sunday by the police at Agona Nkwanta for attempting to spiritually harm the woman he claimed has neglected him.
The man, Emmanuel Obeng, who married the successful businesswoman last December, claimed his wife [name withheld], was being promiscuous and has failed to take care of him since losing his job.
He thus approached a fetish priest to cause the wife’s breast and vagina to rot, and also to swap the woman’s wealth for him.
Obeng then presented a photo and six panties of his wife to the fetish priest in the area, Nana Nzema, for the performance of the ritual.
But the priest, who charged the man 1,600 cedis to perform the ritual, said he realised the woman is beautiful, hence reported Obeng to the Police leading to his arrest last Sunday. He spent one night in police cell before being released upon intervention by his pastors and others.
“I charged him 1,600 cedis and asked him to bring the wife’s picture and panties…He brought six panties and a picture of the wife but after seeing the picture of the lady and how beautiful she was, I decided to hand the man over to the police,” the priest told Takoradi-based Connect FM.
A source at the Agona Nkwanta Police confirmed the arrest of Obeng, noting it was just to “put fear” in him so he would learn a lesson and refrain from such spiritual venture.
During interrogation it emerged the story as told to the priest by Obeng was false.
He pleaded with the Police not to inform his wife about his ‘evil deeds’ as that could cost him his marriage but that plea was rejected.
The woman, who is 34 years old, reported to the police station Monday with their Assemblies of God pastor.
“Her picture and the panties were handed over to the wife,” the source told our correspondent, adding “she thanked her God and prayed that God has delivered her from evil. The lady told him point blank she will not marry him again”.
According to the source, it emerged that Obeng’s wife financed their wedding ceremony.
“She sponsored the wedding and currently housing the guy, taking care of the man and his kid. He opened a cold store for the guy after the marriage, but the man squandered all the proceeds from the business,” the source added, “The ring the woman bought for their wedding was 2, 400. Just decoration for their wedding was 3,000 cedis,” the source added.
The Police after the interrogation charged him for offensive conduct, but realising this was a spiritual matter, and also considering the intervention by the pastor, Obeng was freed.

@koo, This is are the BEST panties ever you can ask your mom.
So if the woman was ***barred word*** he would have gone ahead with the killing, hmmm..
So Police don't deal in spiritual matters other quarters do. Man why U first accepted such responsibilities U have disappointed us men.
They have to arrest the priest because, he would have done it when the woman is ***barred word***.According to his speech,he said he realised the woman is beautiful so he reported the man to the police and this is foolishness.
a church goer? couldn't he discuss with the pastors before taking the action? hmmm! church goers! eiiii
THE LADY'S PANTIES OR PILLOW CASES.WHAT A SIZE'''''
Do the police believe in spiritual things? Very funny
Why do you withhold the lady's name but put out that of the man. Is this the kind of gender equality we are seeking? As a media house, I think it behoves on you to protect the identity and dignity of both parties, especially when no guilt or wrong doing has been established by a court of competent jurisdiction. My thoughts. Thank you.
This all means the woman MARRIED the man, but not as our customary believe that men marry women. Yoooo.......are the rest listening?
