The Ghana School of Law is to be expanded in order to increase admissions, the Chief Justice Sophia A.B.Akuffo, has said.
She said the expansion would be captured in the 2020 budget to be presented in Parliament.
Speaking at the enrollment of 305 newly trained lawyers at the auditorium of the Economics Department, University of Legon, the Chief Justice said, the General Legal Council would not compromise on the quality of lawyers produced by the Ghana School of Law.
She said the Council’s position was that every student who gained admission into the Ghana School of Law obtained a 50 per cent pass mark.
Her comments comes in the wake of more criticism of the Council over mass failure of candidates seeking admission into the Ghana School of Law.
The Chief Justice said the Council and the National Accreditation Board were currently assessing all the 14 faculties of law.
She said a report on the faculties by the two bodies would determine if all the faculties could continue offering the law courses.

Chief Justice I disagree with you on this one the law school shouldn't be a floodgate for f00*00ls like the institute of journalism has become! look and is ten to ndc lawyers like Amaliba and you ask who gave him that chance? the law school should be like in the olden days when only intelligent people with wisdom go there not f00*00ls and knowledge, knowledge goes with wisdom. We are breeding some kind of lawyers who only thing is kriminality and politics! we are not breeding the Ollenu, Sir Ako Korsah, Edward Akufo Addo, Adumoah Bossman etc, etc but the Amaliba, the Kojoga Adawuda and others whose business is to defend political kriminals and making political unnecessary statements such lawyers are not healthy for a developing world like Ghana! We want the above names who took Ghana first before anything, those Wise men who were born in Gold Coast and loved their country more than themselves you know the best ones of our country Madam Chief Justice and you those days not everyone was admitted only wise people were allowed to learn law and even parents could see from their children who could be a lawyer then ! we are tired of f000*00ls getting admission into our law schools and coming out with nons*ense ! there we should be a criteria to know the wise ones who will be fit to study law not anyone. Some even go because of their political affiliations to help their corrupt and thi*ef appointees. We don't want such people because they can't be of any use to the nation! We have so many us*less lawyers around who can't defend and win a simple case and some haven't even entered any court room before but call themselves lawyers! Please Lady Chief Justice do the country a favour and give us best lawyers not the Okudzato Ablakwah and Ayariga who have never stepped in any court to defend anyone except when they are being sent to court ! are we breeding lawyers who will defend themselves in court after going into politics and ste*aling from the state? or breeding knowledge and wisdom lawyers,?Tell those students to find another field to help the nation
