George Mambezi, the Kenyan father who has gone viral for for beating up his son who failed to sit for Maths and English exams, scored poorly in other courses and got an 'A' grade in music despite spending $21,000 on his school fees, has now responded to the criticism he has been receiving online since the video resurfaced.
Mambezi who is reportedly a top staff at a multi-national Telecommunications company in Zambia, responded to 'human rights activists' who have been criticising him for 'disciplining' his son.
George, in a letter addressed to a Zambian blog, said only he can decide how best to discipline his son as he was brought up in the village and his Christian religion permits him to discipline his child.
The man further said that anyone who isn't happy with the way he treated his son, should come and file papers and adopt the young man and ''see if they will be happy after spending $21,000 on his tutition only to see him singing.''
Posting on Facebook, George Mambezi, who has since been called for questioning by Zambian police said;
'I know your page is the most happening and the most popular in Zambia at the moment so I would like to address this issue on your platform for maximum audience.
First of all Bambino is my son and I have the right to discipline him, am a staunch Christian and an advocate for human rights.''
''In as much as I can slap my son, it’s all because of love and me wanting the best for him.
I cannot kill him or feed him snakes if he requested for fish. I grew up in the village and am one of the few people that were privileged to acquire a sound education and I would want to pass that legacy to the next generation.''
''The Bible clearly says spare the rod spoil the child in Proverbs 13:24. I won’t let my child eat ma 2V in the name of human rights therefore if you think I was wrong , go to the relevant authorities and process the adoption papers for him.''
''Let’s see if you will be happy seeing him walk in the streets singing for K2 like Fly Jay and Lawino after spending $21,000 on tuition.''
George Mambezi....

It's unfortunate that the mother failed to see from the father's perspective, hence filming and making family stuff infamously public. A father, for all and every cause have the Biblical right to discipline his child. We can see the effect of the "No beatings (no disciplining) stance" of the western world in children inviting the police to pick up their parents or sticking guns at their because the feel their society support them against their parents disciplining them. In Africa, we have family values, which does not obtain in the so called "civilised world". Kudos to this brave father for standing his ground in the face of such criticism from the international public. And the mother that made this public (as reported) sorryooooo
You are such a good father. In every statement so filled with rage was love. Your son will one day be able to understand your undying love for him. If we have to stop and throw stones to every bucking dog, we may never get to where we are going. Ignore our Catholics that think they are more Catholics than the pope.
So the wife making this public, what was her intention. Unsubmissive wife
Please someone come forward and adopt this boy! He is precious to God and his father has no right to slap him. You all will stand before God’s Judgement, and I pray you will repent of slapping your children in Jesus’ Name. Yes, I believe in consequences for bad behavior, but failing school exams is not bad behavior!! Slapping is NOT an appropriate form of discipline.
Dasoooorrrr!!!! Your response is in the right direction. I'm with you 100%
I completely support the man. He did what he did with the best of intentions for his son. No father who has paid that amount of money as school fees would take kindly to what the boy did. He was clearly a recalcitrant and a deviant and to only way to deal with such kids is to beat the hell out of them! The only looser in that story was the traitor of a woman who clandestinely recorded the video whilst pretending to be concerned! What did she want to achieve? And equally admirable is the courageous and honest response of the man to critics. The kids these days think the shortest way to make money is to be famous and they hardly take their studies seriously despite the best efforts of their parents!
This monster called human rights is doing society more harm than good. Soon, they will say you need your baby's permission before changing their diapers. Spare the rod and spoil the child. I support this man's actions 100%.
iam glad I watched the video be4 you tube pulled it
I love this man. We are Africans and must deal with things in our own way. Disciplining his child is a directive from God. The indiscipline in our society is the reason even those called super powers are losing the fight against COVID-19. If not why will they enact a law to restrict freedom of citizens? He must it simple, if you think you can do better just file an adoption papers. Human Right activists are the ones killing the world.
I think this man has the right to discipline his child. This is Africa and we believe in our culture which discipline is Paramount. He is not a ***barred word*** to beat the child to death?Yes the child want to do music it isn't bad ,but he has to let the child understand that music isn't just about singing ,it comes with a whole lot.It is a business and so for you to venture into it you should be academically inclined as well.so when it comes to the business aspect he will be able to handle it.I am for the man.Goodluck and I pray your child will grow to understand how much you love him.
