A fishmonger at Akplabanya in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region, Prudence Tetteh’s marriage is on the verge of collapse after spending her husband's money to cater for COVID-19 suspected persons who were isolated.
The Ada West District Assembly led by the DCE, Adzoteye Laweh Akrofi on 26 March 2020 entrusted 12 fishermen suspected of having contracted COVID-19 virus in her care for two weeks until test was conducted and the expenditure presented to the assembly for reimbursement. The assembly, for fear of incurring huge hotel cost, also asked the woman to also provide accommodation for the 12 and provide a three square day meal as they used utility for the period of stay.
Prudence Tetteh used her own trading money and that of her husband to cater for the people who were later released after testing negative. Prudence Tetteh presented her expenditure to the Ada West District Assembly as agreed.
Close to three months now, the Assembly has refused to reimburse the woman in spite of several calls at the Assembly premises to demand her money. Aside from her fish mongering business coming to a halt, the woman's marriage is almost ending because she used her husband’s money to take care of suspected COVID-19 victims.

If its true then it is absolutely nons*ense! Prudence should see the minister for Gender protection for redress. Why would a DCE appointed by the president behave contrary to the president? I know the president will get angry if he hears about this, why would the DCE do something like that to the woman? He should know he represent the president in that area and that he shouldn't do anything that will jeopardize the president's work! Yet still the woman can contact Hon. Oseade3yo Ken. Agyepong to intervene for her !
