The New Patriotic Party’s 2008 flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, has described the death of Mr. Dan Lartey, Founder and Leader of the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP), as “a great loss to the nation.”
“Differences in politics had nothing to do with personal relationship…he was a friend to everybody in the political arena and that alone shows that he was a great statesman,” the 2008 NPP Flagbearer said.
Speaking to a cross section of the media, Nana Akuffo-Addo said the deceased will be forever remembered for the role he played in contemporary Ghanaian politics, especially his vision of Domestication. According to him, Mr. Dan Lartey was a man with a can do spirit and believed in the country’s independent and total freedom from foreigners.
In a related development, a leading member of the NDC and Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Baba Jamal, has described the late Dan Lartey as a man bubbling brimming with confidence and great belief.
“The nation has lost a great son and a politician who domestication policy, I believe would have contributed greatly to the development of this country,” he said.
