Ex-first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is expected to submit her nomination forms on Wednesday June 1. This was confirmed by aide to the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams in an interview with Joy News.
He does not anticipate the camaraderie that greeted the picking up of the forms but was quick to add party faithful and supporters of Nana Konadu are invited to witness the event.
Her filing brings closure to assertions the ex-first lady may not be able to get signatories from the 230 constituencies from the NDC given what her campaign team alleged were intimidations of her supporters.
If she satisfies all conditions set by national executives for the flagbearership race, it will kick start comprehensive campaign ahead of the July Congress.
Meanwhile, another contender Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah is unlikely to meet the deadline for the submission of the forms.
Sources close to the former Vice-Chairman of the NDC said he will be asking national executives to extend the date of the deadline. It is unclear whether the National Executives will yield to that request.
