Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Omani Boama has rubbished claims by Nana Asante Bediatuo for an autopsy of the late president to be publicized.
Speaking in a telephone interview on Radio Golds current affairs program, Alhaji and Alhaji, Nana Asante Bediatuo said the late president remains should be subjected to autopsy for the public to be informed on the causes of his death.
He added that the law requires that an autopsy be carried out if a person dies 24hours on arrival to the hospital to clear suspicions. It is my duty as a leading member of the Danquah-Busia tradition to stand for what I believe in.
He further indicated that the call was not motivated by his political affiliation adding that I am not working for the NPP.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Omani Boama also in a telephone interview on the program stated that Nana Asante Bediatuo is throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.
It is not true that compulsorily, once a person dies after being taken ill to hospital, within 24hours, an autopsy should be carried out. Once the medical history of the person is known, the doctors can go ahead to issue a statement without an autopsy.
