The National Democratic Party (NDP) has been advised to let the fate of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) be a guide to them. The NDP like the DFP is a breakaway party of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
But the members of DFP, however, returned to the party earlier this year due to numerous unsuccessful attempts to win general and by-elections in Ghana.
The NDP is now tipping former first lady and wife of the founder of the NDC, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, to be its flagbearer to lead them to the December polls.
Speaking to Citi News, a former executive member of the DFP and now a co-opted Executive Member of the NDC, Bede Zedine advised the members of the NDP to rethink their decision. Our experiences ought to guide the NDP. We went and we did not succeed and we have come back, he said.
