Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey has denied that he has appealed to the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reinstate him as a member of the party.
He wrote to the executives of the party asking them to abandon the disciplinary proceedings instituted against him and further recommended for an immediate quashing of the illegal suspension of my membership of the New Patriotic Party.
Dr. Wereko Brobby was suspended by the party for describing the partys star witness in the election petition case, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as clueless and confused.
He also suggested in a number of articles and interviews that the NPP leadership has lost focus.
But in an interview on Eyewitness News on Monday, Dr. Wereko-Brobbey clarified that his call for the suspension of the disciplinary process in no way suggests a call for re-instatement.
He said: I said that the actions of two officers have compromised the process therefore the process should be stripped down. I have never asked anybody to re-instate me. What does the NPP do for me?
The founder and flagbearer of the United Ghana Movement (UGM) also accused a member of the disciplinary Committee, Nii Ayikoi Otto and Perry Okudzeto of making prejudicial comments about him.
Mr. Ayikoi Otoo in response stated Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey has gotten the wrong end of the stick. We are not judges and neither are we a jury. Our duty is to listen to his evidence and make a recommendation.
He also dismissed his accusations that he, together with Mr. Okudzeto have made prejudicial comments about him.
