Policy Analyst for the People's National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed has lauded the Trade Union Congress (TUC) for embarking on a nationwide demonstration.
Atik Mohammed commended the leadership of the Trade Union Congress for not kowtowing to the Mahama government.
The Organized Labour led by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) concluded its "We are suffering demonstration" held on Thursday, 24th July, 2014.
The demonstrators converged at the Black Star Square (Independence Square) wielding placards with inscriptions which read; "Rise up workers of Ghana," "Y'abre", "Don't sell GNPC", "Mahama, we are tired" among others.
They (demonstrators) called on President John Mahama to put in place social interventions which would bring relief to Ghanaians.
Addressing the protesters, the TUC Boss, Kofi Asamoah expressed worry over the economic hardships confronting the citizenry.
He complained bitterly fo the fluctuating prices of commodities on the market, high cost of living, increments in utility tariffs and the steep depreciation of the country's currency.
Speaking on Peace FM, Atik Mohammed stated that the TUC demonstration was long overdue, insisting the Union should not bow out until the government is back on track.
He called on President Mahama to either fix the economy or reverse it to its old state of comfort.
