Alhaji Huudu Yahaya has won the hearts of many delegates ahead of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) internal elections.

Some of these delegates, DAILY GUIDE has learnt, have lauded the commitment and loyalty of the lawyer to the cause of the party from its early days to date.

They claim Alhaji Huudu Yahaya has unflinching loyalty for the party and should therefore be considered for the chairmanship position of the political grouping.

A release signed by Mutawakil Rawbil for the National Campaign Committee of Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, explained that “he is surely and strategically cruising. He has been outstanding in his campaign for the National Chairmanship position.”

Flaunting his cadre pedigree, the committee pointed out that “he has demonstrated his perfection of the art of timing by just picking up at the right time in a fashion that has completely altered the complexion of the political game with humility and immense patience.”

Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, a man who has studied the Holy Quran from which he is able to quote to the admiration of his fellow Muslims when he speaks at public functions, has already visited six out of the 10 regions in the country to meet delegates on one-on-one basis.

The committee noted that “the impact of the message and response so far is overwhelming. He has managed to win the hearts and admiration of delegates by using his strength in articulation to explain his vision and prospects for the party.”

Alhaji Huudu Yahaya has never forsaken his party’s ideological position of social democracy as he constantly takes time to revisit the history of the NDC through the years of struggle and breakthrough and also the period of change,” it noted.

The release noted that “he is the overriding favourite, as his track-record show he is the man to be trusted for the task ahead. He is the first General Secretary for the NDC for eight years and was in charge when the NDC had her best ever record performance in general election, 58% in 1992 and 57% in 1996. He has been the longest serving Vice Chairman of the NDC for 12 years and Chairman of the conflict resolution committee.”

The Huudu campaign team told delegates that in order to win the 2016 polls, the party needs a credible, balanced team builder with participatory qualities, which they explain are reposed in Alhaji Huudu Yahaya.
