“It has become imperative for the opposition party NPP to pragmatically resolve the issues within the party as soon as possible”, he warned.
The death of Alhaji Mahama, a former Upper East Regional Chairman for the NPP, has deepened internal wrangling within the largest opposition party. Some regional executives of the party have conferred to pass a vote of no confidence in their National Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
As a result of this, there have been growing accusations and counter accusations within the party with several new pressure groups mushrooming on daily basis. This, according to Alhaji Ibrahim Dori, compounds the issue by threatening the peace and security of Ghana as a whole.
He therefore gave the NPP a maximum of three weeks (21 days) to fix the matter or prepare to meet him court. “I am giving the NPP 3 weeks to put their party to order of face my rigours in court”, he cautioned.
