Member of Parliament for Tamale South in the Northern Region, Haruna Iddrisu is likely to contest unopposed in the impending National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.
Unlike the Tamale Central and Mion constituencies where incumbents Inusah Fuseini and Dr. Ahmed Alhassan Yakubu are facing stiff competition, investigations by Citi Newsďż˝ Northern Regional correspondent, Karim Naatogma show Haruna Iddrisu is likely not to face any challenge.
He is expected to be endorsed by popular acclamation on 7th November when the party organises both parliamentary and presidential primaries.
The Employment and Labour Relations Minister on Saturday submitted his nomination forms and at a media interaction, thanked his constituents for their trust in him.
He promised to increase the 53,000 votes he pulled during the 2012 elections to 60,000 in 2016.
Haruna Iddrisu believed his accessibility and credibility will continue to win him more votes in subsequent elections.
The Minister said his mission of connecting communities in his constituency to the national electricity grid is almost 100 percent complete.
He admonished the Ghanaian electorates to also renew President John Mahamas mandate to enable his administration accomplish the unfinished Better Ghana agenda.
