Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya in the Eastern Region, is facing stiff opposition from three formidable contenders in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) slated for November 7.

The former Deputy Defence Minister is being challenged by three contenders-Isaac Tetteh Agbo, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area and one of the financiers in 2012 campaign, Geoffrey Nark-korli and Dr Joseph Nuartey, Volta Regional Health Director.

They have intensified their campaigns ahead of vetting in Koforidua on September 27, 2015 in order to unseat him.

Prior to the 2012 primaries, DAILY GUIDE learnt that the contenders rallied behind Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi to unseat Micheal Teye Nyaunu, the former MP.

The candidates are said to have fallen out with the incumbent MP because they believe he had failed to lobby for more projects for the area since he assumed office.

They also accused him of failing to maintain the good works of the former MP.

The former MCE, Isaac Tetteh Agbo, in an interview with local radio stations in the area, hinted that he led the last campaign because the MP could not prosecute his own agenda to the satisfaction of the constituents and political observers.

Mr. Terlabi, who officially launched his campaignly at Casino, a suburb of Odumase-Krobo, said that he had brought a lot of developmental projects to the constituency in the last three years.

Although some contenders are currently engaged in verbal attacks in their campaign, some Eastern Regional NDC executives have called for peace during and after the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
