The Northern Regional Secretariat of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur on his retention as the party’s 2016 Vice Presidential candidate.
Despite a few calls by NDC members for his replacement, President John Dramani Mahama reposed the confidence in the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana who came into the political limelight after late President John Evans Arthur Mills’ demise.
President Mahama by his decision meant there was no need changing the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur ticket.
The Northern Regional NDC Secretariat in a statement issued by the Regional Secretary, Lawyer Rauf Khalid lauded President Mahama’s decision and reaffirmed its commitment to work towards renewing their mandate in 2016.
