The Ashanti regional manager of Center for Human Rights and Advanced Legal Research (CHRALER), Mr. Ernest Arkosah, has stated that lack of engagement with the electorate is the reason why politicians lose their seat during elections.

According to him, failure to dialogue with residents to facilitate the exchange of information and opinions will forever be the waterloo of many parliamentarians if not addressed by themselves.
Speaking in an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE, the regional manager of CHRALER bemoaned the execution of projects by politicians without the involvement of residents to find out their real needs.

Speaking at a just ended one-day performance and evaluation program held by the organization at Afigya Kwabre in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Arkosah decried the performance of most assemblies in terms of development, noting that some are very abysmal.

“Substandard, halfway and slow motioned projects currently characterize the performance of many assemblies.”

He challenged the media to track projects at the various districts in relation to how they are executed, the funds involved and the speed of projects so as to help expose corrupt practices.
