Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has promised to take on each line of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent lecture and expose the lies in each line. The Vice president, who shelved his initial plan to respond to the lecture by the running mate of NPP’s Akufo-Addo at one sitting, said such lies are better exposed on political platforms because what Dr. Bawumia did was pure politics instead of economics.
Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch in Sunyani Saturday, Mr. Amissah-Arthur who is a former governor of Bank of Ghana accused Dr. Bawumia, who is also a former deputy governor of Bank of Ghana, of “trying to use figures to bamboozle” Ghanaians for political gain. The lecture was themed, “State of the Ghanaian Economy – A Foundation of Concrete or Straw.” But instead of doing justice to the economic situation in the country, Dr. Bawumia rather chose to engage in “spurious analysis”, he claimed. Insisting that the lecture was full of lies, the Vice President stated that claims that the NPP government between 2001 and 2008 increased Ghana’s GDP to 459 percent is false. “If even the economy improves by 8 percent by a year, you only double that GDP in 9 years.” he explained, “How is it possible that the economy that was not growing at 8 percent, [but] at 3 percent, 4 percent and so on that in 8 years some doctor is saying it grew by almost 500 percent, it is not possible. He is using figures to deceive us.”
Also, he said Bawumia’s comparison of what the NPP was able to do with a certain amount vis-à-vis what the NDC was able to do when it took over from the NPP as flawed. “So I have decided that everywhere we go I will take one of his lies and explain to you why they are lies. So don’t believe what you read. “I only got my copy of the things he said he read three days ago and when I read it, every line there is a lie there, I can destroy that line.” Mr. Amissah-Arthur is therefore promising to take on “another one of the lies” when on his tour to the Ashanti and Eastern regions.

HAHAHAHAHAAAAA. A joke of a vice president. If he has any response, he should channel that into helping reviving this dead economy. Really he has no alternative response to the damning revelations
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING IN BAWUMIA'S LECTURE AND HOW CAN YOU REPLY?
Oh Come on. Between you and Bawumia who do you think Ghanaians believe? You are basically a usel3ss appendage to a presidency that is totally inept ,discredited and pathologically corrupt.

It doesn't take a whole month for economist to challenge fellow economist on issues of the nation and this rhetoric by the veep indicates he lacks knowledge in economics. He barely can prove himself right let alone answering Bawumia.Waiting to hear from the incompetent vice president.
Honorable Veep, let's accept there are lies in every statement of his lectures, you advertised that you are going to expose Dr Bawumia in a forum only to be told that it rained. That is shame on you and your bugabuga party. Are you salt ? or you are going to walk to the function. Bawunia's lecture has electrified and send shivers down the entire NDC party and administration. It will take 3 month to received tutorials from economic lecturers and reharse it before you can come and counter argue with Dr Bawumia. Ghana needs such people to be in helm of affairs of the country.
