Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has told people in the three regions of the North to vote massively for President John Mahama, one of their own to guarantee a sustained development of the area.
He says Chiefs in the area particularly must weigh the consequences of choosing between President Mahama, who is seeking re-election and what the largest opposition party, the NPP is offering to bait their votes.
Mr Julius Debrah who led a massive one week campaign at in the Upper West region last week, targeted electorates at the grassroots level explaining government’s achievements and policies intended to create enhanced opportunities.
“If the system is working we must keep it going to bring about the change we desire. Countries like Malaysia have achieved progress not because they changed governments but because they kept governments that were working”
The Chief of Staff whose campaign tour included cinema shows to let the people appreciate massive development projects in the health, roads, education, power and other sectors of the economy further explained why Dr Bawumia cannot have the capacity President Mahama has to change the lives of their people as claimed by the NPP in the campaign in the area.
“In every moving vehicle, there is someone behind the steer and a driver’s mate. The driver determines which direction the car is move. The mate may have a say but the driver takes the ultimate decision. In this simple analogy, President John Mahama is the driver.
Dr Mahamadu Bawumia a Vice Presidential candidate will be the diver’s mate should Nana Addo wins and cannot have the ultimate power. If he proposes something for you and Nana Addo says later, there is nothing he can do” …He told the Chiefs and people of Kaleo.
“When President Rawlings was President, all Ghanaians voted for him. They gave him eight years and he did what he could. During President Kufuor’s regime, all Ghanaians again voted for him so he served two terms also eight years. The late President Atta Mills would also have had that opportunity. Now one of your own, President John Mahama has done only two years and some people want him out.
Is that fair? We are not saying just vote for him but at least lets give him the opportunity to also serve eight years then we can compare all three. But I bet you. By the end of President Mahama’s second term, Ghana will see massive transformational change” …Mr Debrah emphasized during his tour.
The Chief of Staff’s campaign to the Upper West region was intended to close the vacuum that might have been left during the absence of the President who was in New York to attend the 71’s UN General Assembly.
He also used the opportunity to explain the NDC 2016 manifesto and assured the people and the nation at large of more projects with focus on job creation.
“President Mahama intends to introduce what he calls a ‘GREEN REVOLUTION’. We shall introduce mechanized, Dams will be built, farmers will have direct access to needed farm inputs like tractors, fertilizers, seedlings etc which will be available for hiring. Farmers would be eligible to pay after harvest. This will make farming attractive in this area”…. He noted.
Mr Debrah took a swipe at the NPP for not being a serious party yet making every effort to sabotage the good work of President John Mahaa.
"Some party's don't have manifestos yet they go around blaming the NDC of stealing their manifesto. At a point they said their manifesto was missing, the latest news is that they are preparing their manifesto, well it's all good but the NDC manifesto is out. We have a vision, focused and want Ghanaians to believe we will deliver"
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah was joined by NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho in some of the constituencies where they addressed mini rallies and introduced Parliamentary candidates.
Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur also stormed parts of the Eastern region as part of the NDC’s grand strategy.
While the NPP is glued to press conferences in Accra with their perspective on the Ghanaians economy with issues like GDP, Inflation, Corruption and the likes, the governing NDC, optimistic of a convincing win in the December polls, is busy on the ground working against complacency.
The NDC dominates the three regions in the North and has won majority votes since 1992. In 2012, the NDC won 65.54 percent in the Presidential elections The NPP polled only 29.26 percent. The NDC again won all but one of the 11 Parliamentary seats. It lost that seat to an Independent candidate affiliated to the NDC who broke away after losing the Parliamentary primaries.
In the Upper East region, the NDC swept 66.43 percent of votes in the Presidential elections in 2012 with the NPP trailing with 29.29 percent. The NDC also won 12 of the 15 parliamentary seat, NPP followed with 2 and the Peoples National Convention, PNC won one.

A mason who inherits a good foundation and spend eight years destroying it cannot be trusted to build the house. jdm and ndc cannot be trusted anymore. they have spent 8 years collapsing our economy and you this stomach direction politician you said what? what do you know and how on this earth can you compare this your use$les$s corruption to the most prophet of the land. his Lordship Alhaji Dr. Bawumia. enough is enough, we have had enough of ndc. #ChangeisComing
THIS MAN IS VERY SHORT
When will all these tribal politics come to an end in our beautiful country. That is the there have been retrogression in our development. So, should they vote for Mahama because he is a northener? If leaders are elected on the basis of ethnic extractions, can we have competent brains to take charge of the country? Cf tell them what you have, and stop that evil method.
Ohhh mother Ghana. Ane he calls himself chief of staff? If not greed, selfishness and sheer opportunism why won't julius Debrah call the people of eastern region where he comes fromm to vote for Nana Ado as a brother. This politics of functionalism, division and regionalism is what will bring mother Ghana down one day. This is a sad day for Ghana politics. So what about ther regions who brother is not presidential candidate or vice? I weep for my country if people like this are ruling us.
Good work done Chief of Staff. The silence majority of Ghanaians will speak again come December 7th. The NPP should continue making the radio noice and finally the 72year old man who wants to be a president at 80 + years will be retired for us to have peaceful elections going forward. #Agenda2020 #RetireNana@72 #NoAbabas3 #UsainBoltVictory for JM.
Julius Debra must have lost his mind and conscience. He stands infront of Northerners and call their son, a PHD doctor and economist, a driver's mate???? And the Northerners stand and stare at him as if they are okay???? A baboon calling a fine gentleman a driver's mate. We will vote massively against NDC and Mahama.
One of our own.He who believes in this is inferior to him/herself. Why should Northerners always allow themselves to be misused by their own and outsiders. This ***barred word*** man should go and say the same to the Akans.
John mahama is from the north and has been MP, Deputy minister, minister, vice and president but his home town of Bole Bamboi is the 3rd poorest in the north and 7th in all the districts in Ghana so does such a person even deserve one day to be president? If he couldn't help his people for the 8 years of being the Vice president and president what did he do even to solve the water problem? Nothing, anyone who will believe this man and put his/her future into his hands are finished, it will be better for that person to die. What has he got to do and couldn't finish in the 8years? Look at the one in front of you talking, you see how he can't even breath because of your money, they are feeding themselves good and deceiving you with none existent infrastructure packaged in a book. These people are real hardened kriminals. NDC MUST GO! The wind of change has triggered the ndc kpokpogbligbli attack so they are talking any how. Ghanaians are discerning and tribalism for power will not work, it will be an honour for the people of the north to have Dr Bawumiah as the driver's mate is far,far better than ndc driver, he will earn the Northern people credibility and honour that they've lost due to John mahama create, loot and share. Ghanaians are wide awake, president Rawlings will soon get his party back. Akronfuo
Being the driver's mate has not prevented developments from going to the Central Region. This analogy is a very weak one. The President comes from only onr region but does he do things for only the region? How can this man talk like this from his head?
I heard the man and I was appalled by his tribal analysis. According to him between limann and mahama there was a 25 year gap and so if we don't vote for mahama it will take another 25 years for another northerner and that we can't wait that long. Tribalism shouldn't be encouraged.
