The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama, Henry Kwabena Kokofu who filed his nomination to contest in this year's election as an independent parliamentary candidate on Friday, September 30th, has rendered an unqualified to the leadership of the party for his actions.
A purported statement from the NPP MP's camp issued over the weekend read: “I wish to formally communicate to all stakeholders of the NPP that, I resign as a member from the party with effect from today (1st October, 2016). I wish to thank all who supported me during my time as a candidate and also a member of parliament for the Bantama constituency. I have to embark on a personal project and I think it will be a rightful decision to resign and concentrate fully on this mission. I feel many people now question my loyalty to the NPP; upon my decision to run as an independent parliamentary candidate. I equally doubt that, I can remain loyal to the party and it is prudent I resign and then focus on my personal mission. Though I hope to win, but, I would rejoin the party in the event that I lose the upcoming election.”
But the beleaguered Bantama MP discounted the news stressing that he has never taken such a decision.
He told Kwami Sefa Kayi, host of PeaceFM's Kokrokoo in an exclusive interview Monday, that he has however withdrawn his nomination to contest as an independent candidate and further apologised to the NPP.
"I apologise to my flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo, leaders of the party, former President J. A. Kufuor and other people who were disturbed by the news that I had gone independent. I render an unreserved and unconditional apology to all of them" he stated.

Hahahahahahaha coward man like you.Why do you have testacles? be a man of ur own decision. Imagine coward like you got chance to go parliament you wont open your mouth for the entire four years. Hahahahaha I laf saaaaa.....
I takes a man to do what you have done. You are truly a party man
Egya Koo number 2. If you did not mean business why did you take that decision in the first place. Pure stoupidityy. Two months to a major election was this necessary. No wonder egya Koo is nana addo campaign coordinator. Most Ghanaians would be ediots to vote for a bunch of indecisive people. Their acting chairman is advertising for NDC while the acting general secretary is taking monies from Ibrahim Mahama yet they want to run Ghana. Apuuuuuu toooooor.
May God bless you Honorable, Npp first, shame onto NDC with their 1 million vote in Ashanti region.
If you claim to be a loyal party supporter, you must support its presidential candidate. The reason is because, as the saying goes, Majority Carry The Vote. Also The Voice Of The People Is The Voice Of God. No matter your differences, once the person is elected as the flagbearer, you must support him/her in the interest of the party.
