Vice President Kwesi Amissah –Arthur has stated that this year’s election is a choice between realism and political opportunism.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur made the above statement at a lecture with students of the Cape Coast Technical University. The forum with the students forms part of his four-day campaign tour of the Central Region.
He said any political party manifesto which is not coherent and realistic must not be taken serious; adding that the NDC manifesto is a logical one.
He advised that since electorates were going to elect their President and Members of Parliament, it’s important for them to make a choice that would secure the future of the country.
Mr Amissah –Arthur noted in his submission that President John Mahama is the best choice for Ghana in the wake of the December elections. During the encounter, he charged the students to remember that:
“a political party is the most important organization in any country and it is their responsibility to organize available human resources and use them for the wellbeing of the country after winning an election.”
Elections, in his view are the plans for the future. “An election uses the past as a guide but is looking forward to the future, so in looking forward you must have a manifesto that is coherent and a realistic document the shows the seriousness of a party”, he said.
He added that “so a manifesto must not be hesitant or indecisive it must not be insincere and should not be an opportunistic document because when the document is opportunistic it can just be abandoned because it lacks rigor and credibility…And it must be designed very well to address the future needs of our country.”
The Vice President noted that in 2016 when the NDC unveiled its manifesto at Sunyani in 2008, the party ensured that their vision was a logical one that would bring development to Ghanaians.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur was quick to add that the current manifesto launched by the NDC in Sunyani evolved around four thematic areas with emphasis on job creation.
He said the NDC’s ideology of Social Democracy aptly articulate the vision of the party that the circumstances of a person’s birth should not determine his contribution to the nation.
He said the NDC is a party that creates opportunities for all people in the country to develop their fullest potential so that they can contribute their maximum to the nation.
Mr Amissah Arthur also told the students that we don’t want political party that has a short term view of the country’s prospects. “Instead we want a party that looks into the future and makes long term plans so that the nation can thrive in a competitive global world”, he noted.
He said the NDC has a more credible program for the future of our country than their opponents.
He took a swipe at the NPP by noting that “political opponent try when given an opportunity to denigrate the NDC’s achievement through lectures read by their running mate”.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur warned Dr. Bawumia that despite his attempts to denigrate the achievements of the NDC at any opportunity he gets, it would not deter the NDC government from continuing with its transformational agenda.

YOU DON'T HAVE ANY ANSWERS TOHIS QUSTIONS THAT WAS WHY YOU HAVE RESORTED TO INSULTS. shame!
