The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Agyei Boateng, led the stone throwing incident that took place on Sunday November 20 in the New Juaben municipality of the Eastern Region between supporters of Ghana’s two leading parties, Jamal Konneh, Eastern Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has alleged.
On Sunday, five people were left injured after supporters of the NDC and main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) clashed at Asokore in the New Juaben municipality as they embarked on separate but simultaneous health walks as part of their campaigns ahead of the 7 December polls.
The parliamentary candidates of both parties led the respective walks. Supporters of both parties reportedly stoned each other and also vandalised cars nearby.
But speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom, on Accra 100.5FM Mr Konneh said: “I will not call him (Agyei Boateng) an honourable because he led the stone-throwing incident, he started throwing the stones at us (NDC). And so you cannot differentiate between himself and a serial caller.
“We have pictures and videos that depicted him throwing the stones at us.”
Mr Konneh added: “We don’t want to embarrass him by making the videos public and, so, he should just come and apologise for orchestrating that incident.”
But in a sharp rebuttal, Mr Boateng denied instigating the incident.
He explained: “If they (NDC) have any pictures and videos they should bring it out. They rather attacked us, attacked nearby sellers, and others. Even the police officers who were with us had to run away because of their (NDC’s) attacks.”

NDC people will never learn to be wise, he should come and apologise..... u dont want to release the video to disgrace him meaning u lack somethings as a leader, go ahead and release those pix and videos u claim to have and i know surely the NPP's will also release theirs so go ahead and release the videos and stop beging the man to apologise. All this prpaganda wont win votes, both parties acted unwisely so go and advise ur people.
