The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Kwadaso Constituency Dr Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah has stated that defeat is staring in the face of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) hence their propaganda spree ahead of December 7 polls.
He indicated that the NDC is desperate for power and are determined to use all dubious means to win power.
Dr Nuamah wondered why after mismanaging the economy the NDC would go round asking Ghanaians to vote for them to be retained in power.
The President John Dramani Mahama has received backlash from a section of the public for begging Northerners to vote for him because he is one of their own.
Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, he questioned why the President would talk as if only Northerners voted for him to win power in 2012.
The parliamentary hopeful lashed out at the President for spewing tribal comments oblivious of the different tribes in the country.
He called on the President to desist from being a divisive President by drawing the line between Akans and Northerners adding that such move will throw the country into something untoward.
Dr Nuamah indicated that the President would have lost miserably if Akans had rejected him, asking why he and the NDC are targeting 1.5 million votes in an Akan populated area, Ashanti region.
‘Why would the President with his position spew such venom? Has he thought about the implications?. Akans are not tribalistic as perceived the NDC, if Akans are divisive, would they have garnered the votes in the Ashanti region and other Akan populated regions. The target of 1.5 million votes, are you only expecting Ewes and Northerners to do this for you. He should stop spewing such unpleasant comments. This is totally wrong, it is un-presidential.
The NDC have realised that defeat is staring them in the face and so have embarked on propaganda just to win power. They are desperate for power. The President has no stake when it comes to getting votes from only Akans and Ashantis,’ he fumed.
According to him, political parties going the tribal lines would not augur well for nation building.
He called on his constituents to vote for him to win the seat pleading with Ghanaians to also vote for Nana Addo and the NPP.

So you think. Disappointment awaits you. You will hang yourself from the roof of your room by your balls.
Is rather the opposite Mr. man, NDC is winning one touch.
Mahama is rearing a baby lion and it will surely grow to become the big lion and I can bet you if it doesn't eat him up, it will eat his children. Ghana is really battling to wean itself of tribalism and religion and the only thing a self acclaimed peaceful president can do is to fuel it during every election. Minority tribes in Ghana have complained for generations that Akans do not treat them well but currently in Ghana, the situation is rather the opposite. Minority tribes hate Akans with passion and NDC feeds on that during elections. Back in our school days, we sat in class with people from all parts of Ghana and never was tribalism a concern. All of a sudden you come out of school and you are fed with tribal hatred from rather those who are supposed to be responsible. My fear is that Akans will very soon rise up against this trend and that will not be good for the country. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your tribe and the president should rather teach the other tribes to learn from Akans.
