The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated that supporters of the party will be forced to react if attacks on them are not curtailed by the security agencies.
“The attacks on our supporters...should nothing continue to be done by the president-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, and the NPP leadership to immediately put a stop to the unprovoked and uncivilised physical attacks on our supporters, we the NDC youth will not fold our arms while our people are attacked violently.
We shall henceforth reply in equal measure whenever we are attacked by NPP supporters. A tooth for a tooth, an arm for an arm,” NDC National Youth Organiser Sidi Abubakar stated at a press conference in Accra on Monday, December 12.
Some persons affiliated to the party took over the administration of the recently constructed interchange at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in the wake of the party’s victory in the 2016 polls. The supporters seized the keys to the offices for the staff and management of the €74million interchange on Saturday.
There were similar reports of NPP supporters arbitrarily taking over public installations across the country, reminiscent of scenes in the aftermath of the 2008 polls won by the NDC, which witnessed some of the triumphant party’s supporters taking over the running of public toilets, toll booths, community centres, among other structures.
In Kumasi on Saturday December 10, few hours after Nana Akufo-Addo’s confirmation as winner of the 2016 election, some party faithful stormed some public toilets manned by staff of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), seized the keys to the facilities, assaulting some persons in the process.
The toll booths located at the Ashaiman end of the Accra-Tema motorway were seized and taken over by well-built men in the early hours of Monday, December 12.
The party leadership has condemned the action of the supporters describing it as “shameful” as they called on the police to deal with the culprits.
But the NDC Youth Organiser insists that “our supporters throughout the country are subjected to daily and nightly violent attacks unleashed by lawless thugs of the NPP whose leadership are directly sponsoring and encouraging the violence perpetuated on law-abiding Ghanaians. At this point, we the leadership cannot guarantee that our people will continue to stand by without defending themselves”.
According to him, “the NDC is able and very capable of causing lots of chaos and confusion if the NPP continues to attack our members. We are also calling on the Ghanaian media that also supported the rigging of the elections to openly condemn what the NPP thugs are doing.”

incompetent akuffo addo can not talk to his supports.incomptetent leader like so called nana.
So Mahama is not in control. Incompetent mahama. Perform your duties as the President of Ghana and stop this talk
A VERY IRRESPONSIBLE STATEMENT AT THIS TIME OF OUR TRANSITION. THESE ARE STATEMENT THAT INCITE ESPECIALLY COMING FROM A YOUTH LEADER LIKE YOU. YOU ARE STILL IN POWER, WHAT STOPS YOU FROM ARRESTING THESE LAWLESS PEOPLE PARADING AS NPP SUPPORTERS? WERE THEY SENT BY AKUFO ADDO? THEY ARE OPPORTUNISTS IF EVEN THE CLAIM IS TRUE. ARREST AND PROSECUTE THEM AND SEE IF NANA WILL COME AND RELEASE THEM. LET'S BE CAREFUL WHAT WE SAY. DON'T MUDDY THE WATERS BEFORE YOU LEAVE. WE STILL HAVE TO MAINTAIN OUR PEACE. IT IS NOT OVER TILL IT IS OVER.
Where is Ghana Police? I now understand why Akuffo Addo had to be concerned about recruiting his own security from outside Ghana. To the police my advise is "anybody who shall save his life would lose it and anybody who shall lose his life will save it". If for fear of being victimised you look on unconcerned when lawlessness is being perpetrated then have you not lost your power as a law enforcer and if you have lost that power, shall the citizens not resort to other means? the IGP must sit up.
WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING,NDC LIERS
In 2008 NDC did worse than what is happening today.Where is the so called service men who said they will deal with people ruthlessly this is the time they must act. Army Commander OJE talked as if he OWNS Ghana and i informed him that he will regret one day for that comment. NANA ADDO shall enforce the LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY.
THESE NDC EMPTIHEADED POEPLE WILL NEVER LEARN. WNAT DID YOU NOT DO IN 2008.YOU TOOK OVER EVEN PUBLIC TOILETS. YOU DROVE DRIVERS DRIVING AWAY FROM THEIR SEAT ON METRO MASS, YOU KILLED SOME AND MAIMED OTHERS. NDC IS TOO DIABOLIC. THEY ARE JUST A BAND OF DEMONDS AND DEVIL INCARNATES. THEY KNOW NOTHING APART FROM BEING IN POWER AND ***barred word***. GOD HAS BROUGHT YOU DOWN. YOUR PRIDE AND ARROGANCE HAS COST YOU THIS MUCH YOU EVEN HAVE MORE TO PAY. IF YOU WANT TO RETALIATE GO AHEAD. GOD WILL DO TO YOU AS HE DID DURING THE ELECTIONS.
Even if they did those things, though we must condemn we must not forget to remind our NDC people that they did worse things in 2008, even killing and maiming others. if you people have forgotten, NPP members at AGbobloshi were displaced and they had to sleep at the NPP headquarters for days.
That is what you want to do. Who is in charge of the police? Who is the minister of interior. That person is part of the NDC administration. Why have you not arrested any body. I personally don't believe most of the attacks. Or are they perpetrated by NDC thugs? Not past you guys. I have heard of at least 2 attacks that turned out to be false. One in which the person who made the call was doing pedicure. You are in charge still till January 7th. Do your job. Mahama ordered that the thugs be arrested. Remember to also arrest Collins Dauda's brother who has inflicted cutlass wounds on several people who have been hospitalized. Arrest him too. Don't think you can threaten anybody
who is in charge? you are still the government so why dont you go ahead and arrest.
