This year's election saw about twenty four women being voted into Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Some of these women are already used to being parliamentarians while others are entering the 'floor fresh'.

It would have been better if the reporter had given us information on the trend. All the same kudos to all the lady MPs on both sides of the political divide.
To achieve the 40% parliamentary representation we need 110 women parliamentarians. As at now it is about 13% (35)so there is more work to be done to attract more women into the parliament. Those going must work hard as an encouragement to those outside, particularly the young once.
