Mustapha Hamid, Spokesperson to President-elect Nana Akufo Addo has revealed that the latter has come under pressure from individuals and other intrest groups as he puts together his government to run the afairs of Ghana beginning January 7.
Soon after Nana Akufo Addo was declared winner of the December 7 general elections, intense lobbying commenced for various positions in government.
A large section of the public is expectant and impatiently waiting to know who makes it to Nana Akufo Addo’s government which will have the ardous task of ruling the country for the next four years.
The first person President-elect Nana Akufo Addo named will be part of his government is Mr Alan Kyeremanten who’ll be Minister of Trade and Industry if approved by parliament.
He has subsequently named Prof. Frimpong Boateng as Minister of Science and Technology and Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto as Agric Minister, subject to Parliamentary approval.
Others have had the president elect confirming their positions in his administration but fell short of naming the specific positions they will occupy.
Deputy Minority Leader Dominic Nitiwul and Hajia Alima Mahama have all been commended and promised a place in government by the president elect when he assumes power.
Speaking on Kasapa FM, Tuesday, Mustapha Hamid stated that though the pressure on President-elect Akufo Addo is mounting by each passing day, Nana Akufo Addo remains focused on the task set before him.
“People are putting pressure on Nana, people are lobbying. Even some of us who are not bigwigs in the party are being pressured by people to facilitate their appointments. We are inundated with CVs from all manner of persons. I’m sure even constituency chairpersons are also feeling this type of pressure, so if I say Nana Akufo Addo is not under pressure I’ll be telling a lie. But Nana Akufo Addo is not broken by the pressure, he remains resolute in what he’s doing. He knows what politics is about…lobbying is part of the political process, that is why he’s dropping some of these names so that people know that he’s already made up his mind so they reduce the lobbying. I don’t think he feels that much of a pressure considering that he already knows what he wants to do.”

What really is your problem? What has Mustapha done to you? What is wrong with what he said? It is wrong you are one of the sour NDC losers. Mustapha has worked tirelessly for Nana and the NPP. He has been the spokesman for Nana Addo for 10 years, so if he was incompetent, Nana would have changed him a long time ago. Mustapha is hardworking, eloquent and respectful. He will do great in whatever ministerial position he is given.
This clown always wanted to be on the news. Akuffo Addo is under no pressure. This guy abandoned his islamic scholarly job to lobby for the post of communication director because that is where he feels relevant. He lacks communications skills and has no ICT background. He lacks innovation and he thinks the job of a communication capo is to make noise on the air. He will be a bad taste for Ghanaians if Akuffo Addo makes the mistake to nominate him as his communication minister. His posture is unprofessional and he lacks decorum. Watch out NPP . Communication is a serious business in every enterprise.
***barred word*** albino, u are wanted in Tanzania
NPP is full of competent people making it difficult to chose. Other party you easily appoint and get enough room for babies with sharp teethes. We will continue to pray to make wise decisions.
THIS SHOW HOW COMPETENT YOUR PARTY IS. THIS SHOWS THAT ANYBODY WHO GET THE POST HAS TO WORK HARD. THE NPP HAS ANOTHER SET OF COMPETENT PEOPLE IN RESERVE.
