Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has questioned reasons for which Minister-designate for Energy will go and assume office at the Ministry as if already approved.
At the vetting of Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko on Monday, January 23, Alhaji Muntaka said he has received reports that the minister-designate even signs official documents as if “sworn in”. “Does that not make the vetting process like a rubber stamp?” the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP queried. He said Mr Agyarko on an occasion ordered some items not to be removed from a warehouse.
But in answering these accusations, Mr Agyarko said “I have not held myself anywhere as a substantive minister”. Admitting that he sometimes goes to the Ministry to sit in the office of the Minister, the ministerial nominee said he only acts on the instructions of the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said on the occasion of instructing workers from moving items of the Ministry from a warehouse, he only had a report but efforts to reach Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the former Energy and Petroleum Minister, and John Jinapor, the former Deputy Power Minister, proved futile. He promised ensuring that all is done to make sure the country moves into a steady power supply and “and ultimately into uninterrupted power”, if approved.

So you want the Ministry to be bear for you go go round ***barred word***? You have been caught on the wrong foot. The nominee has to be at the ministry to ascertain what is happening at the ministry. Do you expect him to go and sit with the watchman? Keep quiet Pampas and Chichinga MP
Any dump watcher of the screening process will see how bitter the NDC guys are. They had the chance to serve the people of Ghana but Ghanaians were shortchanged for eight solid years. Now the NDc is crying. They better look for thick towers to wipe their tears, nothing can help them now. governance is not about propaganda
He is going to the ministry as who? why is it that we are so stooopid to politics that we cannot even see wrong anymore. What is the rush? Nobody has been refused by that committee before so why rush? Are there no human beings in that ministry to carry out whatever orders from the president? i think the President should know better and stop sending people who have no locus into govt offices.
Muntaka asking questions? hmmm. the appointments committee must be overhauled
Nana Ama, you are very ***barred word***
GHANAIANS WE SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL...I THINK WE ARE GIVING THE NPP TOO MUCH ROOM..LOOK POLITICIANS ARE POLITICIANS AND WE SHOULD PUSH THEM TO DO THE RIGHT THINGS....IF WE DONT TAKE CARE BY THE TIME WE ARE AWARE THEY HAVE ENTRENCHED THEMSELVES SO MUCH SO THAT NOBODY CAN CONTROL THEM...LETS BE BE VERY CAREFUL..THEY ARE NO ANGELS AND THEY CANT PRETEND TO HAVE CHANGED OVERNIGHT...OS LETS CAREFUL AS A PEOPLE...IF YOU HAVENT BEEN SWORN IN AS A MINISTER...YOU CANT PERFORM MINISTERIAL DUTIES...PERIOD
I don't know what to say. Watching this vetting yesterday, I was wondering why there was so much efforts put into trying to criminalize the nominee. Suhyini begins asking very inappropriate and irrelevant questions. Even when alerted to the obscenity of the question he shows his ***barred word***-I-t-y by insisting on being allowed to stay ***barred word***. So much repetition from Muntaka and Haruna each trying to outdo the other. Muntaka spend almost 40 minutes asking unnecessary questions and then Haruna takes over and repeats almost the same questions for about 30 minutes. If this is the way to go am sure it will take them one year to vet the 36 nominees and their deputies, plus the 10 regional ministers and their deputies plus all other nominees.... and may I ask what ***barred word*** is that?? when will the government get to work? Please minority grow up and stop being wet sobs! be realistic and stop this irresponsible attitude. We are watching you.
I could sense hatred in the vonce and demeanour of Montana. It's not good attitude.
Is the Ministers Room a sacred shrine or Holy of Holy? I will rather applaud him for going there to get abreast with information and prepare towards the task than to be at home sleeping and waiting for approval before he hit the ground running. The essence of going there was justified by how he demonstrated his wide knowledge of the situation at the ministry of energy. Thumps up Agyarko. A very clever guy! NDC members on the panel should focus on questions that will benefit the country and stop personal attacks. Put hatred aside. Ghana first!
