A member of the legal team of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Abraham Amaliba has slammed minority members in parliament for failing to stage a walkout from Monday’s vetting in support of colleague, Alhassan Suhuyini.
The Tamale North lawmaker was ruled out by the chairman of the committee when he asked Mr. Boakye Agyarko to clarify the circumstances surrounding his exit from the Bank of New York, where he worked for many years and rose to become a Vice President.
The chairman considered the question offensive to the nominee and a breach of the rules of engagement at the committee.
The new lawmaker, however, could not hold his emotions and openly expressed anger over the treatment meted out to him by the chair.
Member of Parliament for Asawase has described Suhuyini’s attitude as a breach of the parliamentary rules adding that the chairman was right in overruling the MP’s question.
But speaking on Starr Midday News Tuesday, Amaliba said the minority should have boycotted the proceedings to show their anger over the treatment meted out to Suhuyini.
According to him, the treatment meted out to Suhuyini during the vetting was unfortunate and harsh.

This man is so passionate about political issues and in the end loses his sense of objectivity and good reasoning. I was so elated when Hon Adwoa Safo made him look small in matters of the law on one of the TV3 programs. Hon Suhuyini thought he was hosting a show on Radio Gold so, he sought to ask all manner of questions. Why was he trying hard to link Hon. Agayrko to a crime which occurred in a company he worked for in another jurisdiction?. The said crime took place in London, UK whilst Hon. Agyarko was in New York, USA branch of the company. Was he shocked that a Ghanaian rose to the rank of a vice president in an American company? Well, during his background checks, was he told that Hon. Agyarko did not work there?
Amaliba and his ***barred word***-t-y ....
So this guy calls himself a lawyer? He questioned the signing of the dismissal letter of the MMDCEs with some baseless arguments. I hope he listened to Hon Hajia Alima Mahama at the vetting. She was able to explain the constitution requirement that led to the signing of the dismissal letters of the MMDCEs. We have LAWYERS and LAYERS. Amaliba your arguments as a lawyer has not been convincing at all. You lay claims to most of your arguments withou any legal basis.
Mr. Amaliba, with all respect, I would be very glad if you could tell me the Law School you attended. I have watched you on NewsFile on Joy News and heard your voice on numerous occasions on various FM stations, I find it difficult to comprehend your arguments most of the time. I think you should go back and collect your school fees from that Law School.
THE NDC IS REALLY STRUGGLING TO BE RELEVANT BUT THE APPROACH IS ENTIRELY WRONG. COME WITH SOMETHING CONCRETE AND WE SHALL LISTEN BUT THESE TANTRUMS WON'T WORK.THE MP'S QUESTION WAS WHETHER MR. AGYARKO WAS EMPLOYEE OF THE BANK WHEN A CERTAIN SCANDAL BROKE. SO WHAT IF HE WAS IN THE EMPLOY OF THE BANK? DOES THAT MAKE HIM CULPABLE?
Amaliba, Suhuyini himself has apologized for his misbehaviour so what is your problem if they boycott who cares when NPP boycotted did NDC not continue to vet their appointees in 2012 you must talk as lawyer not like yam farmer
THE FACE OF A NATION WRECKER!!!! GO AND BOYCOTT IT YOURSELF!!!
THIS SUHUM OR SUNYANI OR WHATEVER HE CALLS HIMSELF........ IN THE FIRST PLACE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WASH HIS HANDS YET THE NDC MADE HIM DINED WITH THE KINGS ......YOU SEE THE EMBARRASSMENT CAUSED... YOUNG GUY WHO ALWAYS DWELLS ON FALSEHOODS...
Jealousy go kill you. Because the NDC has lost power so you feel jealous. Concentrate on your law. The country is not for NDC alone. After all, NDC is noted for corruption, stealing, buying big cars, fuel stations etc.
let them boycott the train will still move. you do not make any difference
