A member of the legal team of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Abraham Amaliba has slammed minority members in parliament for failing to stage a walkout from Monday’s vetting in support of colleague, Alhassan Suhuyini.
The Tamale North lawmaker was ruled out by the chairman of the committee when he asked Mr. Boakye Agyarko to clarify the circumstances surrounding his exit from the Bank of New York, where he worked for many years and rose to become a Vice President.
The chairman considered the question offensive to the nominee and a breach of the rules of engagement at the committee.
The new lawmaker, however, could not hold his emotions and openly expressed anger over the treatment meted out to him by the chair.
Member of Parliament for Asawase has described Suhuyini’s attitude as a breach of the parliamentary rules adding that the chairman was right in overruling the MP’s question.
But speaking on Starr Midday News Tuesday, Amaliba said the minority should have boycotted the proceedings to show their anger over the treatment meted out to Suhuyini.
According to him, the treatment meted out to Suhuyini during the vetting was unfortunate and harsh.

Fooooooooooooooooli$h mammal
HURRY AND JAIL ALL AND ANY THAT HAS STOLEN A PENNY FROM GHANA ,WHETHER IT BE IN KIND OR IN CASH ,THEY ALL SHOULD BE JAILED ,THEY ALSO SHOULD ACCOUNT FOR THE 110BILLION THEY COST GHANA WITHIN THE PAST 8 YEARS AND ALSO WHO KILLED ATTA MILLS?
Like all the other guys from the North this Suhiyini is arrogant. Why they are like that I simply cannot understand. After 2 weeks in parliament you want everyone to hear of you It simply does nor work like that.Look at Muntaka's line of questioning. It's simply meant to bait, and in many instances annoy the nominees. There are many things that need fixing so let's get on with the job and stop this cheap politics.
well, somebody should tell this Amaliba or whatever that if his minority people had staged a walkout on Monday sitting, the vetting would have still continued without them. Just one month in opposition and you can't bear the heat? You haven't seen anything yet!
In the NDC you cannot tell the difference between the foot soldiers and the learned guys. They talk evil, they plan evil, they act evil, and they think evil. If Oti Bless could became a minister, who else can not be? The NDC members in the Appointment Committee are playing delaying tactics to the detriment of the NPP government. The gentility of the NPP would be a disaster for them, since the NDC is thrived on lawlessness. Only Ken Agyapong and Sir John understand the language of the NDC. The NDC is preventing the best materials to go waste. Why are you allowing the NDC to override you, the NPP members in the Appointment Committee?
face of an armed robber
Amaliba pls let Suhuyini know that Radio Gold is not equal equal to Parliament. As a trained Journalist he should have done more research to verified the information before asking the nominee. Doing propaganda at radio gold is not the same as being a member of parliament
These are the people who caused the defeat of the president. Amaliba is a lawyer but hollow.
Is the what NDC is going to behave in OPPOSITION? The journey will be VERY, VERY, VERY LOOOOOONG for them! In Just 1 month? 'Ei, enea moawu' whwn the prosecution starts. 'Asem beba dabi'!
