Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has expressed disappointment in opponents of the government’s decision to use the Heritage Fund to implement President Nana Akufo-Addo free SHS policy.
According to him, he sees nothing wrong if the government wants to use the Heritage Fund as a source of funding for the SHS because education is a vital to the success of the economy.
Speaking on Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Kwesi Pratt questioned the logic in saving money for future generations when it can be used to benefit today’s generation and improve the economy.
In his view, it won’t be advisable to keep the Heritage Fund till the next generations come to withdraw from it.
He explained that Ghana’s currency keeps shifting value and it is difficult for the nation to guarantee that there won’t be any fluctuations in the value of the currency so as to store up the Heritage Fund for the future leaders.
To him, the nation should rather invest in the children of today to build them into great future leaders in order to address the country’s challenges.
“If you’re investing in the future, one of the best investments you can make in the future is education. It’s a major investment in the future and whatever way we can adopt to invest in the education, let’s use it so there will be progress in education. If we don’t it that way and we rather put some ‘useless’ money down somewhere, that money won’t help us in anyway,” Kwesi Pratt stated.

you don't pay school fees to educate your children, because the OIL MONEY is there and the President NADAA wants to use that money called the 'heritage fund' to educate our children free yet, others are opposing such a laudable and beneficial idea. when parents are crying about exorbitant school fees and now the ''door of prosperity" is being opened, and we are saying, 'do not open' that door. Ghanaians what at all, is our priority.?
Oh Ghana, what do we mean by the word 'future' When ex Pres. JAK fought tooth and nail to find oil in ghana, what was his intention, to 'LOOT and SHARE'? when our future leaders are educated to handle the national affairs, is it a crime? if VAT, is increased to educate our future leaders free, same ghanaians would be complaining. The oil money is beneficial and must be used judiciously to develop the country as other countries such as Libya is doing to its citizens from infancy. Mr. Kwasi Prat Jnr. (ONLY ONE SHOT), i doff my hat to you. we need people who have 'good intentions' for our future generations now and yet unborn. why do you hold a stick for a dog to bite you. President NADAA,don't let your detractors swept you of your feet.let your good intentions be blessed by the ALMIGHTY GOD. (still the BATTLE IS THE LORD)
Kudos Kwasi,we have to use the money to educate our children of today so that they will be able to build a better economy for the unborn generation. NDC do not the youth to be educated so that they will continue to deceive them that Nana Akuffo Addo wants to take the capital town to Kyebi and again NPP would send the sea to Kumasi. These are the minds that the NDC would want to deal with.
Sometimes politics has the tendency to reduce the thinking level of people.Who in its right sense would reserve money for the unborn generation when the current generation can not have education?use the money available now to educate the current generation and they will develop the country better through education for the unborn generation. What good will it be for the unborn generation if the current generation are to become illiterate and unable to develop the country and therefore the country is under-developed.Use the resources available to develop the country for unborn generation to come and enjoy .
Some of these NPP f--u--u--l-s think we would it down and look at them to loot and share state funds in the name of their so called free shs? never....in these country. If you are creative and innovative enough why don't you generate funds through your so called book longs ideas? and instead the money that has been raise through someone's effort for a particular purpose should rather be diverted to free shs. Use your ideas to create wealth for Ghanaians that is what we mean good governance
Some of these NPP ***barred word***-s think we would sit down and look at them to loot and share state funds in the name of their so called free shs? never....in these country. Cant people just be logical? You have GHC 900m for an illiterate future leaders. How about you train these minds with this same money to multiply it 20 million times? Imagine 20 Bawumia, 20 Akuffo Addo... 40 Kuffour, 10 Abban Babin, 1 JDM. Is this a Calculus or Fibonacci Sequence so hard to understand. Or is it Kwasi Nyantakyi's co-efficient stuff. Train these minds for tomorrow, only dont allow them to read 8 or 9 subjects in three years. Its a lot ***barred word*** and waste.
.....TO GIVE FREE EDUCATION TO OUR CHILDREN. AFTER ALL, ONE DAY THESE NDC CROOKS MAY COME AND CREATE LOOT AND SHARE IT WITH A WOYOME !!!!!!!!
Wow! Wonders shall never end today Kwasi Pratt is on NPP govt. side on this loudable idea from the incorruptible savior the Prez. I can't imagine how we should allow a dog to bite us now while there's a stick and say we will use the stick next time the dog bites us. The future generation is this little once we call future leaders so what's the point of saving that money! AHOONENE NTI NA YEGYA MMOWIRE! ndc think again
Perfect and Brilliant Wisdom. Let's look at it this way, what will be the use of me putting money down or saving money when my children are illiterate. What is the use?. Can uneducated child who has grown into adulthood probably use the investment I've made for him. Won't some whiteman come and snatch it from his hands because he can't read and write. Aba! Let's us reason up. Pls, Nana use every savings we've to educate our children, what is Heritage fund when our children are selling on the street. NDC MPs are visionless Tweeaaaaaa! Nana don't mind NDC. For once listen to Kwasi Pratt
