Former National organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan has confirmed that he will contest for the national organizer position of the party in their next general elections.
Speaking on Okay FM's Adekye Abia's Programme, he explained that he has had some broad consultation with some party faithfuls and some of the leadership in the party so when the time is due he will respond to the call of the masses.
"A lot of factors contributed to the party's defeat in the 2016 general elections, therefore we need come to come together as a team and device strategies that will enable us capture the 2020 general elections and not repeat the same mistakes", he expalined.
Mr Boateng Gyan added that the party needs people who are dedicated and devoted to work very hard like himself to ensure that the party is brought back to power.
"For me I know that my strength in politics is in organization and that is what I have been able to do all these years to bring the party to power in 2008 and 20012, so if there is the chance to serve my party again, why should I reject", he queried.
Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan lost his seat to Kofi Adams, spokesperson of former President Jerry John Rawlings at the National Delegates Congress of the party.
Kofi Adams polled 2,543 votes while the incumbent, Yaw Boateng Gyan polled 734 votes.
Yaw Boateng Gyan on his defeat in an interview said he does not understand why the delegates changed the team that worked so hard to bring victory to the NDC.
According to him, the delegates changed some of the executives just for 'changing sake' because 'we have worked so hard, won victory for the party, won the Supreme Court case and so on and so if it is not the fact that they needed change, then I find it hard to believe that some of us lost…
…we ask for change when the person has not performed…but there are some who feels there should be a change so that new energy will come in…nonetheless, I will do whatever it takes for NDC to retain power because if we don't and we lose the elections, it will take a very long time before we can get it back'.

You must come back because all the new executives are all greedy. NDC make a very big mistake to change the wining team and brought the loosing team. We need you and Dr. Kwabena Adjei to rescue the party but not this young greedy guys who only knows how to chop money and insults.
Is not the sane man who said Nana Addo is old so he should allow young men to take over, he want Nana addo to copy his wisdom because he is too old to occupy any position in Ghana. how come he then turn 180 degrees to copy Nana Addo. is only a dog who goes back for it vomit oooo. are you now strong to do that job
Now you see that elderly people are the best in this our country. My advice to you if they vote for you is not to come and create your own police as you did in 2012. Ghana is at peace without you.
The fight is about to begin..... Ghana will be a better place without these greedy and selfish NDC people......
You are coming back for what and for where? Saboteur like you who will vote for an old duade and self-seeking id!ot like you. Go plant some yams and let people find someone youthful for your party.
