The Finder newspaper on Monday published that the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) is calling on government to tackle corruption with urgency.
The CDD-Ghana urged the government to seize the current pro-anti-corruption political atmosphere in the country at the moment to take decisive and concrete action on the growing list of corruption cases in the country.
The policy think tank further appealed to President Akufo-Addo to take advantage of the collective public support in the fight against corruption to tackle pervasive corruption in Ghana, the Finder added.
Addressing the issue of corruption by CDD-Ghana, James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called Kabila has advised the Akufo-Addo administration to walk their talk on the fight against corruption.
According to him, it shouldn't be mere ”rhetoric" by the government by paying lip service to the fight against corruption.
Kabila further stated emphatically that the remedy for corruption in Ghana doesn't lie with the office of Special Prosecutor.
He asked the President to take action immediately to sanction previous and incumbent government officials who are found culpable of corruption.
“The fight against corruption is and must not be rhetoric. My position is the fight against corruption; the antidote was not and cannot be in the establishment of any office of the Special Prosecutor", he said on Peace FM's Kokrokoo.
