A presidential hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alban Bagbin, has described ex-President John Dramani Mahama as indecisive.
According to him, Mr. Mahama faltered in taking key decisions as leader of the country.
Mr Bagbin said, “Mr Mahama has several attributes as a person that I admire a lot but decision taking is sometimes his major challenge.”
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM in Kumasi on Tuesday, the ex-Majority Leader in Parliament said, “Mr Mahama has good control over the English language, which has earned him admiration across the globe.
“Mr Mahama has also acquired a lot of knowledge and experience due to his position as president. I travelled across the globe and met different kind of people from various backgrounds.
“But I realized that he (Mahama) sometimes faltered as a leader when taking key decisions as the leader to solve pressing national problems, and you know leadership is about decision making.”
Mr Bagbin, however, disagreed with those, who believe the NDC lost the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections mainly because of the actions and inactions of Mr. Mahama.
The presidential aspirant attributed the defeat of the NDC to several factors, saying that the party was not united ahead of the elections, as Ghanaians were made to believe at the time.
Mr Bagbin said the previous Mahama administration was alienated from the party people, especially those at the grassroots.
“Did you see the party elders campaigning with him?”he quizzed.
He also claimed that the advisers virtually stopped him from correcting Mr Mahama to move back onto the right path.
According to him,“All my efforts failed so I was forced to come out sometimes to speak my mind.”
Mr. Bagbin also debunked assertions that he hates Mr. Mahama, describing those claims as false, noting that “I was the first person to predict that he (Mahama) will be president one day, so how can I hate him?”
“I have benefitted a lot from the country and I think it’s about time that I give back to the country.
According to him, he has a lot of experience and expertise, adding that he has the zeal which will help develop Ghana effectively.

if he is saying these about mahama then am afraid mahama does not deserve second chance at the presidency, else he is going to mess up more
FORMER PRESIDENT IS AUTONOMOUS WHEN IT COMES TO DECISION MAKING. THAT ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR LOST DURING THE 2016 GENERAL ELECTIONS.
Mr. Bagbin's contradictions cannot be missed! He says Mr Mahama cannot make relevant decision but does not realise that supporting the losing team instead of the winning team is an example of wrong decision making? Is failure to make elders of the party join the campaign part of indecision or not? And finally, note that surrounding himself with advisers who will not heed good reasoning might be the worst decision a leader may make. One does all these and you say you don't agree he caused the party to lose elections? What a bundle of contradiction?
Is Mr Bagbin campaigning for himself or condemning Mahama ? He Mahama also ignored the old gurus of NDC that is why he lost, and more so of changing the wining team in Kumasi and support the loosing team to bring him down.
Funny enough it is the vain npp and ***barred word*** freddy blays paper, the dailyguide that is always reporting all this lies.
seriously i wonder why this man wasting his time attacking his brother from the north while other presidential aspirant are on radio stations convincing the electrote about mother Ghana and visions to lead the party and you there talking bus-hit and ***barred word***.does it mean he doesn't have anything meaningful to offer NDC or just dont have anything in the head. Please spear our ears with attack which will not help.
What a wrong ambition, it might take a long time perhaps not within his lifetime to achieve this glamorous ambition.
No Mr. Bagbin does not hate Ex Prez Mahama. Mr. Bagbin is very, very.***barred word*** and doesn't see why a person like Mahama could be prez and he is not. But he Bagbin is advised to concentrate on winning his seat for NDC in 2020 because we NPP even went to campaign for him to win. His people are fed up with him...and he knows. NPP wanted him in Parliament to make the institution lively. So he should stop donquizoting....Id..t!!! .t
