Ghana’s seat of Government has been re-christened 'Jubilee House'.
It may be recalled that, former President John Agyekum Kufuor named the edifice 'Jubilee House' before leaving office.
However the name was reverted to the Flagstaff House by the then ruling party, the NDC, led by the Late Prof Atta Mills when he took office in 2009.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during Ghana's 60th independence anniversary celebration on 6th March revealed that the name, Flagstaff House will be renamed Jubilee House.
A statement sighted by Peacefmonline.com and signed by the President who is celebrating his 74th birthday today, 29th March, 2018, indicated that “in exercise of the power conferred on the President under article 58 of the Constitution, I, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic, give notice that the seat of the Presidency of Ghana shall, hereafter, be named, known and referred to as Jubilee House, and the property known as Flagstaff House, located on the premises of the Jubilee House, shall be preserved and commemorated as such”.

The problem is not the president but your fellow youths. Read some of the comments being posted here. In fact it's sad some human beings will be praising the president of the land for changing a name of an edifice whiles tons of problems are hanging on the neck of our motherland begging for solutions.
Nana you can rename it even heaven you are going to rule for only 4 years
will that solve some if not all of the numerous problems we have in this country? well i am still taking notes going into 2020.
Nanaooo Nana, this is day that the Lord has made and we will be glad in it. wisdom is taking, Happy birthday sir enjoy the rest of the day,and continue the good work.
KUDOS MR PRESIDENT. AM VERY PROUD AS A GHANAIAN. I FIND WISDOM IN THE FULL STATEMENT RELEASED. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR PRESIDENT. GHANA IS WORKING AGAIN.
I believe this change has been fully explained to the understanding of all who want to read and know.I pray it will be discuss devoid of politics. Well done Nana Addo, the president of the Republic of Ghana. welcome JUBILEE HOUSE.
This country has no future. The youth of this country are doomed if naming of a building is what the presidents care about.
Mr President, you made my day and at your own time. You have the patience of biblical Job.You made sure that the letter heads printed with Flagstaff House on them are fully used first so that the state incurs no expenses by throwing away as Mills did. You safe the public purse by waiting for over one year. This is pure wisdom and we cannot buy this in the market with money. Happy birthday, Mr President. Enjoy it, Sir. May Koku Anyidodo rot in police cells. CID boss, listen to me and promise Ghanaians that you will not let Koku out...hehe.
Where is James Agyenim Boateng who led the change of name during Mills administration. I remember vividly the interview he granted BBC then with his immature and shallow reasons. He should be man if he had balls and respond to wisdom explaining the use of the name Jubilee House. We now have the "FLAG STAFF HOUSE WITHIN THE JUBILEE HOUSE". Can the NDC see the beauty of it. Hahahahahaha.
Simple!!!
