Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako says he will decide who gets elected to the top hierarchy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the party's up coming national executive elections.
According to him, just as he ensured Mr. Joseph Yamin lost absymally, he will do same for the national executive elections.
The former Ashanti Regional Minister who attempted the chairmanship slot for the party in the region over the weekend, was given the shock of his life when he was beaten by some 88 votes to his closest contender Augustus Andrew Nana Kwasi despite the support he had from the party’s vigilante group ‘The Hawks’.
The race, which was fiercely contested between Nana Kwasi and Mr. Yamin saw Nana Kwasi win the seat with 699 votes while Joseph Yamin garnered 611 votes.
But the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) elections have been scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2018.
Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the opposition party, however, has disclosed that the election for the position of National Youth Organizer and his two deputies, and that of the Women’s Organizer and her two deputies, would be held a week earlier on Saturday, October 13.
According to him, on September 20, a notice of polls would be published throughout all the NDC's Constituencies and Regional Offices in the country.
Speaking on Okay Fm's "Ade Akye Abia" programme, he explained that as chairman for the Ashanti Region, he is a power broker and "just as i have done for the Ashanti region, i will do same at the national level for the NDC".
"Look, the NDC as a party really do not know what they want, so we will have to decide for as we go into election 2020. And just as i have done for them in the Ashanti region, trust me i will do same for them in their national executive elections."
"When we are able to do this, i'm convinced that former President Mahama who is their weakest candidate will lose the general elections," he stated.

No wonder you live in Ghana, and never aspire to have open mind.
I like this man for the work he is doing for NPP. The only Governor of the Ashanti Regions!!
so, who elected this i.d.i.o.t. into office??
I have lived through all elections from the beginning of Ghana to this day and I can assure you NDC has never won any elections in Ghana before. PNDC metamorphosed in NDC and that the 1992 election was called "ADAKA MU YE SUM" ballot boxes were already filled. This made the NPP not go to parliament for NDC rigging the election. In 1996, it was the same. Opaque boxes and intimation made them win the election. Recently, Dr, Afari Djan confirmed the election of 2008 was rigged for NDC and it continued with Mahama who has been the luckiest man in Ghana politics. From assembly man to president. 2020 election will retire the greedy luckiest man in Ghana politics for ever and collapse the NDC. Mark my word. In any case, is English our language? Somebody who can't express himself is so much successful than any of NDC politicians who only stole Ghana's money to become rich. Little minds talk about somebody who does not talk in English Taking English as your language is what has made the NDC take plate to IMF when they come into power. Power will never go back to NDC until it becomes like CPP, PPP and Akua Donkor's party. I s Chairman Wontumi hungry than you these commentators of NDC? He controls many of you NDC guys because you are so much hungry. God Bless Chairman Wontumi and Mother Ghana.
learn how to express your self in English
If all wishes were horses beggars might ride. Making noise is not politics. You will soon understand.
Massa please mind your own business.Stop bragging. You were aided and only fortunate to have won your elections. Do not think that everyone in Kumasi is with the NPP
