Our attention has been drawn to yet another campaign of lies and deliberate disinformation intended to bring public disaffection to former President John Dramani Mahama.
Last week it was President Nana Akufo-Addo who started a malicious propaganda against Mr Mahama when the former President called for a stakeholders review conference to address the challenges facing the Free Senior High School progamme in order not to compromise the quality of secondary education in the country.
Fortunately, the good people of Ghana saw through the lies and propaganda started by the president and it fell flat on its face.
As if that was not enough, on Friday the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye, started another round of fabricated nonsense in order to tarnish the image of Mr Mahama and bring him into disrepute.
Nana Boakye had alleged that both Mr Mahama and Mr Joshua Akamba, Deputy National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had incited students against the Free SHS policy.
Whilst we do not speak for Mr Akamba and are also not seized with the facts surrounding his interaction with students, if any, we wish to state the following as the facts about Mr Mahama’s photos with students of Wapuli Community Senior High School which have gone viral on social media:
a. Mr Mahama did not (and has still not) entered any secondary school to interact with students in the Northern Region nor any other region during his campaign tours;
b. Driving on a very dusty road to Saboba Constituency on Thursday, 4th October 2018, Mr Mahama’s convoy slowed down for a large group of students (about 70) who were on their way home after school in order for the vehicles not to kick a storm of dust on the students;
c. Noticing that it was Mr Mahama’s convoy, the students massed up in the middle of the road and demanded an interaction with him:
d. Mr Mahama subsequently honoured their demand by popping out of the moon roof of his vehicle and interacted with the students;
e. Mr Mahama urged them to be studious, diligent, respectful and hardworking so that they can excel in their examinations;
f. The students in turn told Mr Mahama of the challenges facing their school and pleaded with Mr Mahama to resolve them when he is elected president in 2020;
g. Mr Mahama promised to attend to their need when elected and thanked the students.
h. The convoy subsequently drove off.
It is clear from the above that Mr Mahama has not dabbled in politics with Senior High School students in the Northern Region and that jaundiced, thoughtless and mischievous fabrication by Henry Nana Boakye must be treated with contempt.
In the last few days, following the warm and rousing welcome given the former President in constituencies in both the Central and Northern Regions and the government’s cluelessness about how to resolve the economic hardship, including the high cost of living in Ghana, and massive job losses, Mr Mahama has become a target of wicked and unproven allegations by fake news promoters and entrepreneurs in the government.
We wish to state that Mr Mahama is focused on delivering the country from the economic hardship and committed to working hard to provide jobs when elected in the 2020 elections. He will therefore not be deterred by the constant, consistent and deliberate attempts by NPP members to malign him.
In conclusion, we welcome the call by the NPP’s National Youth Organiser for the Ghana Education Service to investigate the matter and make its findings public.

James Agyenim Boateng, ask your mahama what he will do differently for Ghanaians not what Akufo Addo is doing for Ghanaians that he will review on the unlikely even he gets the nod but God forbid ! were Ghanaians mot in the country when ndc mounted adverts against the Free SHS in 2012 and 2016? were Ghanaians not in Ghana when even during his us*less unity walk he condemned the Free SHS so what has changed now? what makes Akufo Addo a liar for somebody having evil intentions about his vision? who is a liar more than John mahama or you people don't understand what you say? who is a liar John mahama promising 200 community day secondary school and completing just 10 and Akufo Addo promising free SHS, and restoration of teacher and nurses trainee allowances and fulfilling it just within his first year in office! are you being out of your minds due to your humiliating defeat? Agyenim Boateng ,you have a lot of work to do going with this serpent with double mouth, who could prose and promise not to promise but continued to promise! do you people think the Ghanaians of 2016 have been replaced by another set of Ghanaians who know nothing about John mahama? it is you and your mahama who need to change but not Ghanaians. Ghanaians know between the NPP and the ndc ,ndc are the liars so your new slogan of Akufo Addo and the NPP being liars will never work. Akufo Addo and his people are using the scanty money they get to work for Ghanaians they are not putting the money in their pockets and telling Ghanaians stories like the ndc did,you want to make Ghana's politucs seem like NPP and ndc are the same but "HELL NO" they are 2 different things ! NPP and ndc can never be the same because ndc are born thi*ves who ran the country like a casino with f000*000lish mobsters not wise guys taking control to build an empire. Who in the NPP government has been accused of diverting monies to build us*less things for him/herself ? but that happened in the ndc, people who couldn't afford 3 sq meals a day and didn't have 2 underwear in their closets were grabbing filling stations and designer underwear,shoes and clothing, building mansions and having properties abroad,don't ask me why are they roaming free because krime has no expiry date. Whatever be the case they will answer one day. In any case, Agyenim Boateng, put something in the damn head of your boss Ghanaians are not st*pid to reinstate somebody with no ideas ,no plans ,no even clue to his own mistakes who keep on blaming everyone for his loss even God and turning around to accuse somebody for his vision might be losing it.You people must stop mentioning Akufo Addo's name in your damn f--cking campaign and tell the people your vision your damn drunken dreams and plans, that will help you but not reviewing somebody's vision, what sense dies it make fir us to change the person who brought that idea to somebody who has no idea of what he us talking about? and who told him those Ghanaians who voted against him will change their minds for him, when they know him to be a disaster already? you people are joking!
James Agyenim-Boateng has a task on hand. He will have to come out every day to defend his candidate who is going to stoke trouble every day.
James, what prez Akufo Addo told Ghanaians about the intentions of fmr prez Mahama on the free shs if elected into power 2020 did not fall flat. The message was well received as you do not need to lit a candle before you see your adversary. Every social policy and interventions put in place by the npp under fmr prez Kufuor were destroyed by the ndc when it took power in 2009. The NHIS, LEAP, FREE MATERNITY HEALTH CARE, SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME, CAPITATION GRANT and others were all in disarray at the end of 2016. Prez Akufo Addo's admonition to Ghanaians that, 'becareful about this person when he mentions REVIEW' has indeed gone down well with discerning Ghanaians. Mahama's views on free shs has not changed. A log can never change into a crocodile no matter how long it stays in a river.
james, choose your words correctly by differentiating between 'when' and 'if'. there's no guarantee that mr. mahama will be elected in 2020 so use the word 'if' and not 'when'; he may win or not.
