A former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman has thrown her support for the candidature of former President John Dramani Mahama to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as its flag-bearer in the 2020 general elections.
She described him (former president) as a servant leader whom Ghanaians can rely on, adding that he is a leader of humility and integrity and concerned genuinely about the plight of the underprivileged in the society.
Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman, who served as a Minister of Education under Mr Mahana’s administration said Mr Mahama’s vision continues to grow and that many Ghanaians are now appreciating what he stood for.
She said having worked closely with the former president, it has enabled her to really appreciate the vision and values of the former president, particularly his genuine concern for the underserved.
Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman endorsed Mr Mahama’s candidature in a video posted on Mr Mahama’s Facebook wall on Saturday, October 6.
She joins many other senior members of the NDC and its teeming youth to endorse the candidature of John Dramani Mahama as flag bearer of the party.

Of course I do not expect you to turn your back to the hand that once "fed" you, literary.
Of course you can stand Mahama because he was a very weak leader. He tolerated all the ***barred word*** that were going on. People are always comfortable to hang around weak leaders because you will have your way to act in any way without control
HAHAHAHA HAAA! IN YOUR DREAMS!
After We the cocoa farmers toiled to plant cocoa to fund Northern Free Secondary School Program, of which Mahama( a non-cocoa farmer’s ward) enjoyed, they now ‘stab’ us at back, saying it’s not ready for us. MAY EVERLASTING THUNDER STRIKE ALL THE NDC PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST THE FREE SHS.
Naana Opoku Agymang because of politics as a prof your eye are close and you can't think because of noko fioo. How can you endorse someone who has so much negative attached to his leadership? Well he can be the only senssibblee person in the ndc but we the NPP are saying NEVER AGAIN! NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU
Allowing his brother IBRAHIM MAHAMA to collapse ut and merchant banks.... Allowing him to evade taxes.... Taking Ford bribe from burkinabes contractor... Sada gyeeda subah jospong opuni etc ***barred word*** like you people..
Hello Professor thank you so much for you admonishment . It’s unfortunate that rabbit minded people are insulting you. I had never supported JDM coming back but I’m beginning to consit. I’m appalled at the insults heaped on JDM and all that support him. It shows NPP is really jittery and lacks focus. Wontumi has become irrelevant to our national political discourse but he is the. One who has become the attacking dog for NPP, bad move indeed
Well I wish what I am reading is not true. Prof Opoku Agyemang, I remember as Vice Chancellor of UCC you succeeded at constructing 12 killer speed rumps on campus. Well, that is the only thing I can remember you with. Ghanaians relied on your master Mahama and he failed us so do not advise us to rely on him again. Even children will not give such an advice let alone a professor. I beg you say something of relevance and not this trash. What type of leader is John Mahama? Are you talking because everyone of his ***barred word*** is talking or you are in a dream land? Please give us a break and allow us space to think.
Same thing I was there thinking... I thought I told was some serious person ....
When I saw the headline, former UCC VC, I thought it might be some level-headed academic, only to open the link and see Naana Opoku Agymang, a woman who signed a petition for the release of hoodlums who had been jailed for insulting a fellow woman. You were enjoying the ministerial position so much you were willing to do degrade your fellow women just so you will be appointed again. Your party got dumped, and instead of hiding in shame, you have begun lobbying for your position. Please, pursue something else, as for coming back to power, it will not materialise in your lifetime.
